We wouldn’t have had the same college search process on our own, that’s for sure. Abby kept our son on task and acted as a trusted resource whose opinion he really valued. The cost was worth every penny - no matter how you look at it. Time is money - and our time as parents not having to play the CollegeWise role (poorly, I’d assume) is valuable, not to mention the avoidance of stress and friction. More importantly, we credit our son’s merit scholarship that he received to the CollegeWise essay editors. So, save me time and anguish, plus help earn a scholarship? How much is that worth to you?

Collegewise made our lives navigating the college search, application and decision experience SO much easier than it would have been if done on our own. I would say if your kid already has plan and knows exactly where they want to go to school and what they want to do the comprehensive package would not be necessary. You can just have them help your student with applications and essays. My son's counselor, Kristin, was amazing and met with him over zoom almost every week from end of junior year until acceptance letters began coming in his senior year. As a working parent this was a blessing! Me and my son's relationship was no longer stressed by the process. It was $$ well spent for our family!

We had a great experience with our counselor, Lori Jones. Lori put our daughter in the drivers seat and was able to expertly guide her through the maze. We as parents knew we were in good hands and didn’t have to stress about our daughter taking the required steps and making the right decisions in the application process. Lori was our daughters greatest fan and that gave our daughter oodles of confidence throughout what can be a stressful time. In addition, Lori was always available for us parents to analyze & strategize when things didn’t sometimes fall into line, which is to be expected. I can’t imagine going through this process without her. Highly recommend. We will definitely be using Collegewise again when it’s time for our son.

I really don't know what I would have done without Nikayla––not only was she so so helpful regarding choosing a school, and applying, but she was also a support system that I didn't know I needed. She was there every step of the way, from choosing my high school courses, to submitting my ED application, cheering me on, whilst simultaneously giving me realistic advice. She got to know me on a personal level, which really helped her narrow down a list of colleges that would best suit me; at times, it really felt like she understood me better than I understood myself. I am genuinely so grateful she was my counselor, because she was truly the only way that I maintained my sanity during this crazy, hectic process. Her honesty when writing my supplements was so incredibly helpful, and she really guided me into putting the best possible version of myself out there. The day that my early decision was released, she continued to support me, sending me a message of encouragement and support that really helped calm my nerves; it was incredibly thoughtful, and was something that I didn't know I needed.

I’ve worked with Nikayla since sophomore year and she was amazing the whole time. She was like a double agent with insider college information. My favorite part was that it was a very self paced experience. There were times where we met more frequently and zoom meetings were necessary or other times when we would just message quick questions and updates. My meetings were with her and without my parents so we established our own relationship where we could talk casually and it felt more like a very well informed, college friend than a forced interaction. She was also very real with me the whole time which I needed especially with how chaotic college admissions have been. I needed someone to tell me “hey, realistically, the chances of you getting in aren’t great” and help me come up with plan B and C. Her energy was always really great and reassuring. It’s not like she does the work for me- this is my college process so the work is all my own and I got out as much as I put in, but it was nice to not be floundering with someone to guide me through the nitty gritty parts. She reviewed all of my applications for small, stupid mistakes, helped me organize my activities in the most efficient and appealing ways, and gave me the perspective of what colleges are looking for. These (and like a million others) were things I would never know how to properly do. Even in sophomore and junior year, Nikayla really helped me with bigger moving pieces like what kinds of classes to take to show academic growth or reminders for summer internships. The Collegewise resources were also super helpful. I reached out with an expressed interest and I got a ton of different opportunities in response. The editors for college essays were the nicest people who know exactly what colleges are looking for. I also got ACT diagnostics and tutoring through Collegewise. Basically the college admissions process is really stressful because it’s luck and another huge part is random college politics normal people would never know. Nikayla was great in handling the college crap and highlighting everything I wanted to show colleges in the best light. She made this process so much easier and more fun. I had a great 3 years with her!

We wanted our son to own the college application process and make his own decisions, but we also wanted to be sure that he had structure for getting the work done and making good decisions. We felt comfortable letting go in those situations, knowing that Patti Miller was there to help him think each critical decision through. Just as importantly, we really saw our son grow through the process and we are so proud to see how driven and focused he was on finding and getting into the right college for him.

My daughter's college counselor was always available to provide help and advice when it was needed. She really did a great job of taking the stress out of the college application process, making sure that all deadlines were met. She was also a great sounding board for essays and personal insight questions, ensuring that my daughter represented her best self on her college applications.
