You're not going to work with someone in America. If you care about that, that's going to be an issue. I explained my situation and they were happy to take my $3,700. I just got an email that they want me to form a new LLC for an additional $500. I guess my first $3700 wasn't enough of an upsell. I haven't received an email back and now I'm seeking a refund with a company that has no contact number or phone support. Just a sinle email. Sketchy.

Collective is the real deal. I feel like I am always in good hands (I have been with Collective for over two years now). Managing bookkeeping and taxes as a solo entrepreneur is a daunting task, but the team at Collective supports me and is quick to respond when I have a question. They canceled my memberships after 3 months ( got 1 free month because of the Black Friday deal ), but they didn't do the onboarding process till January, and the person who did the onboarding said that they were too new to help me because I have both 1099 and W2, so she said she'll cancel my membership and referred me to try using another company. Since they took the money out of my bank account, so I asked for a refund. I did get 1 month only but I was supposed to get 2 months because they were supposed to let me know the first place before I signed up. This morning I was still trying to get my refund for another month since they never helped me anyway and guess what?? No one cares enough to reply to my email or answer my chat on their Instagram! Don’t fall for anything they promise you to do, you wasting your time and money and yet, they ignore you when you are trying to speak up!

My experience with them has been truly terrible. I started to transition between accountants (I had all of these existing strategies in place with a different firm) in late Q3. We did not complete the transition within that year. They had me attend some generic webinar with other new signups, said someone would be reaching out for next steps, and that person reached out over 3 months later!! I was never able to stop paying my prior accountants because obviously things have to keep going. So that whole time, I was double-paying. Now, in tax season, I'm getting messages about different actions they're taking - but I never fully transitioned so this all puts me at risk. They offered 2 months free to help out given the mess they caused, but just billed me again anyway. I loved all of the features in their dashboard and the more modern approach to accounting, but this customer service is severely disorganized and my experience with them has been a half a star, if that. Try to get things resolved is taking forever. I had my bank block them. Thanks for having me double-pay for accounting for 2 quarters and zero results to show for it. NOTE: Below in their response they said someone would reach out to me today about this experience. It is now 5p EST and I have yet to hear from anyone.

I have used them for over 2 years now and have been really happy with the help I have received whenever I have asked for it. My direct contact Matt is fantastic and always so helpful whenever I request a call, even with the most in depth questions that I come up with. My only con is that I wish I would have signed up with them earlier as they really do help me with managing the part of my business I don't know much about and help a ton with all of my tax planning and returns!

I was very impressed and felt supported throughout my new member onboarding process and, subsequently, as a member of Collective.com. I originally joined to get guidance and help setting up my S-Corp and a system for monthly accounting and financial reporting. Collective's team expertly guided me every step of the way to incorporate my business as an LLC and elect to be taxed as an S-Corpt. they taught me how to use Quickbooks and helped get all of the expenses and income I had been manually tracking for my sole proprietorship into Quickbooks. They devoted all the time I needed to get familiar with how to keep my books in order and run monthly financial statements for my business. This si basic accounting hygiene for any business owner, and I learned these skills with Collective. They will serve me well for many years! Collective also prepares your S-corp tax return every year (1120S) and your 1040 tax return. although the first year there were some hiccups with the timing and speed of the returns, the quality is irreproachable, and the level of detail and scrutiny to ensure everything was accurate on my return was exceptional. The monthly fee includes a subscription to QuickBooks and payroll software (Gusto); it is a great investment and I highly encourage any business-of-one to sign up for this accounting-and-tax one-stop-shop platform. I can't recommend it enough.

I wanted to note an excellent moment of business trustworthiness. I signed up with Collective but they helped me determine that the tax savings wouldn't make it worth it for me. They talked to me, explained it and sent a full and prompt refund. Much appreicated, Matt!
