Coast Dental - Lakeland
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Coast Dental in Lakeland was disappointing enough that I feel others should know what to expect. The office staff and hygienists were genuinely friendly, professional, and welcoming. Unfortunately, that positive experience ended when I met with the dentist. His chairside manner was aloof, condescending, and dismissive, especially after I made it clear that I wasn't interested in implants right now. My immediate treatment goals were straightforward: restore my bite, stabilize my remaining teeth, perform the necessary extractions and fillings, and fit me with upper and lower partial dentures. My long-term goal was to consider implants in 3–5 years when the timing and finances made more sense. Instead of addressing those needs, I was presented with a treatment plan totaling over **$21,000** for the upper arch alone, complete with expensive crown work that I neither requested nor felt was necessary. For that kind of money, I could be looking at a full implant arch elsewhere. It became obvious that the treatment plan was built around maximizing revenue rather than meeting the patient's stated goals. I left feeling like this is an implant mill—not a true restorative dental practice. Once it was clear I wasn't buying into an immediate implant case, I felt like my concerns and priorities no longer mattered. If you're looking for a practice that listens, works within your goals, and treats you like a person instead of a profit center, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere. Dentistry should be about restoring oral health and building trust, not steering every patient toward the most expensive treatment possible.
