Impossible to talk to anyone on the phone so I was forced to put through the flawed design on the website and told that I could amend it after. Although not told I could only amend by email which can be hard to explain in writing but I did my best back and forth about 3-4 times until I was told to pay more for any other modifications! I made them aware I was getting this design right for a retail store that were about to put in a huge order had it been correct! Obviously that will not be happening, the design was poor and the quality was worse. Cycling jersey is a ton weight, I definitely do not recommend this company!

This is the first negative review I have ever felt the need to write. Having used Clifton previously I wanted to ask if the sizes were still the same and quality still as good Virtually impossible to speak to anyone. Eventually I was assured by Bruce that they were. It was very difficult to design the shirts we wanted as the design portal had a glitch , then the order form couldn’t be amended on a I phone. Email after email ensued , to the point where I asked to cancel the order, even though I hadn’t submitted the final design I was told that it couldn’t be cancelled. The Alarm bells were ringing. Confusion over deliver date ! So once again asked to cancel ! Can’t be done I was told . At this point when order had been submitted I realised that what sounds like a British shirt manufacturer is importing the shirts from China. So I wasn’t surprised when the quality and size of the shirts was absolutely nothing like my original Clifton cycling shirt ( that I still wear ) As previous reviews state , no apologies , no responsibility taken by the company. I could go on and on but I wasted enough time and money ( £240 ) for shirts that don’t fit and nothing like original shirt sizes . Actually 5 inches shorter Please read other negative reviews or prepare to be totally disappointed , poor lame excuse about previous order being winter shirts , you had plenty of chances to explain this prior to order . Despicable company avoid

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE UPDATE: Please read negative reviews before using this company - those reviews are genuine and accurate. - Response given is far removed from the facts and accuses me of dishonesty, now in a public forum (which is defamatory). "Marcus'" attempts to gaslight me appear to match the experiences of other customers: another reviewer experienced the same notwithstanding the fact that he was buying clothing for a charity. - Still, no one from the company has contacted me by telephone. I have only received hostile and defensive correspondence in writing. It is alarming that this company will not treat its customers with human dignity, especially after Bruce Elliot was so eager for me to submit the order and transfer the price. Original review: - Bruce Elliot was extremely swift to contact me as soon as I’d requested call back from website - I gave express instructions regarding our design - I paid £412 - the shirts were significantly different to the design. The difference went beyond an acceptable margin of difference as indicated in the Ts&Cs - the colours of the shirts bled on washing when washed in accordance with washing instructions - Bruce Elliot has ignored all of my correspondence since problems arose - his team have responded defensively and evasively, asserting without basis that the shirts comply with the design and that the fabrics did not bleed on washing - effectively accusing me of dishonesty - his team have refused to send me a refund and have demanded I ship the shirts to Hong Kong at my own expense despite my explanation that this puts me at unacceptable risk I have been in correspondence with this team for over a month to no avail.

I would rather go to the dentist and have 4 teeth pulled than work with Clifton again. I ordered a custom designed bike jersey. First, they asked for my money before they would even answer any simple questions. Red flag #1 Design elements were set up wrong On jersey, even AFTER I had sent them a visual jog file of my desired design. And this inaccuracy counted towards my number if revisions. Red Flag #2 Informed me that all jersey zippers required full length front zippers, after their design template showed a 1/2 length zipper. Red flag #3. I get charged a $40 alteration fee for an alteration that was NOT altered correctly in the jersey I received. Red flag #4 Jersey arrives. Quality of materials is fine, but logo colors were all too dark. I dont know why they Clifton asks for PMS colors when the end color result of their delivery product is not accurate PMS color. Red flag #5. Moral of the story: DON’T waste your time with this company ordering any customized merchandise.

Update 3: please note the personal attack on me in 'Marcus'' reply here. Gaslighlighting. What kind of company attacks it's customers? Red flag. Avoid at all costs. -- Update 2: funds eventually refunded on 5 Feb. Marcus still gaslighting me though. --- UPDATE: Advised by 'Jimmy' we would only be receiving the the refund (of charitable donations) 'in the January pay run'. I asked to be paid BACS immediately (which is how we paid them) but they refused, repeatedly. We are now 5 days after the 28th of January and still we have had NO WORD AT ALL about our refund. Again, they know this money is for charity (SAMH). We have contacted them three times so far and have yet to receive a reply. We are now poised to contact law enforcement because Clifton are now withholding charitable donations. We also appear to have been BLOCKED on their social media accounts. This is VERY concerning for us as a charitable organisation. ---- We set up a charitable organisation where we aimed to cycle to every away game of our team in order to raise money for SAMH. Due to lockdown we were no longer able to cycle. In order to keep raising money we would have some caps produced in the club colours and sell them for christmas. All profits from the caps were to be donated to SAMH. I placed an enquiry with Clifton on their website and within about 15 mins Bruce (director) was on the phone to me. Bruce assured me that we would have the caps delivered before christmas if we placed the order and paid them that day. Alarm bells should have been ringing. He pushed us to place the order and pay them by lying to us (it should be noted that I have now contacted Bruce around 7 times via email, asking him to call and he has not once responded). I got an email on Dec 12, 2020 asking for a delivery address. I replied asking for an arrival date. Then - silence. No reply. I sent another email asking for a reply on the 18 Dec. They eventually replied to this email blaming christmas for their silence with a picture of an attempt at the cycling cap. The colours were way, way off. Bear in mind I was told a dispatch date of Dec 15 (now 18/12) and the caps were an absolute embarrassment (see my display picture). I was put under pressure to accept once again because Clifton knew I needed them before christmas because our supporters had purchased them as gifts. Red flag once again. They did say they would 'rather fix' the issue, but advised that the caps would not appear until January. I had promised people these as gifts for their friends and family. I pushed back and said that I was not happy, they should rectify their mistake by remaking our order immediately (their fault in the first place). The printing error was so far from the design that it is insulting that they hoped we would accept their terrible attempt. Their communication was vague and attempted to derail my narrative. After consulting with friends, and other business owners, we decided that if "Jimmy" at Clifton was going to make this right we had better get some assurances. On the 20th of December we sent him an email asking for some guarantees of delivery time, an apology, and a discount due to expectations not being met. They then, once again (on the run up to closing down for christmas) did not reply for two working days. Once again, I had to email them to ask for a reply. To our list of assurances they simply replied: "Just writing to let you know that our production facility is already remaking these caps.. We are already having our full capacity to handle the reprint of your order and this will be sent asap." No answer on any of the questions asked. We thanked them for the update then resent the 5 points listed clearly once again. Their reply: "Do you want the originals sent or would you like these to be produced again? These will have a different turnaround time." Once again, completely ignoring our communication. This is now 7 days after they promised dispatch. You would think they would be interested in solving the problem? No. We were not expecting compensation but felt we needed some bargaining tool due to their unprofessional nature. We asked for dates of delivery, and a note to send to our customers.Simple you'd think? No. Instead they replied: "in the interested of seasonal goodwill we will instead cancel the order and issue a refund." I advised that I did not want a refund and needed the caps made, but they repeatedly refused and claimed Ts and Cs violation(without saying which terms). They would not even give a telephone number. Bruce never ever replied. Funny that. Eventually, I sent my bank details for the refund on 10 Jan. They have now advised they will only refund on the 'next payment run' at end of month. I made clear they were withholding charitable donations and they still refused to issue an immediate refund for a job they refused to complete.

1st attempt - legs too loose and strap length too short. Clifton size chart had y strap length dependent on leg length making it difficult to specify correctly. Manager Jimmy initially refused to do anything but finally agreed to remake the shorts when pressed. 2nd attempt - sizes all correct but insert pad placed too fa back so that seams coincided with sit bone position. Very uncomfortable. Jimmy's unhelpful response:"Unfortunately the shorts were made using your bespoke sizing and the seat pad was attached in the location determined by the size ratio of the body which have been tried and tested throughout the years we have made this garment. As the specific location of the seat pad was not requested to be included into the order pack the standard location was used and therefore the same has been delivered." Tantamount to suggesting my rear was in the wrong postion!!

A photo was sent with my initial query of an item i wanted copied as this held childhood memories . They confirmed they could but I needed to pay the £120.00 up front, 2 days later they requested another £30.00. When I received the design for me to confirm it was poles apart, they had used the motif and used that to create the item which was hideous. I was then told they couldn't do what I had asked but refused to give me a refund only a credit note. as I was unhappy with this they are informed I would look into this legally. After contacting citizens advice and trading standards i found out British law is useless as the company is registered in Hong Kong. Thankfully the Disputes Team at my bank has refunded me and they are dealing with it. He absolutely clear in your orders as this is how I've been able to reclaim my £150.00. The staff were very helpful until I asked for the refund Marcus show me evidence of this threat. I look forward to seeing this. I did said I woukd go down the legal route but not once was reviews mentioned. Once again I repeat my request to show evidence of the threat of a negative review and you can now show me your bank notification.

I had a terrible experience with Clifton. This was my first attempt to use them, and my first attempt to buy a luge suit. Despite numerous times asking to talk with someone on the phone to get clarity on the sizing, and how best to buy a suit, they never provided a number. Never provided a customer service number. I had to go through email which resulted in simple canned responses that did not address my concerns. In the end, the process took over 4 months, I never was able to speak to anyone, the suit didn't fit. It was disaster from start to finish. ***context to the reply from Clifton*** During your review of the email exchanges, how many times did I ask for a number to discuss the measurements? My daughter DID NOT fit into any of the predetermined measurements that were posted. On 12/3 I stated I was confused by the differences in the size sheet sent and provided the exact measurements my daughter needed. On 12/4 I was sent the measurement guide and told to “see below”. This was the 4th time being sent the guide with no clarity. It asks for “body length” but does not specify whether that is head to toe or shoulder to toe. Upon asking the question via email it was not answered. In 12/31 this email was sent: Can I have a contact number to call and discuss? I’m not sure what is needed from me. I’ve sent the measurements twice now and have had more questions retuned. Please provide a customer service number so I can ask and answer any questions. No number was provided. On 1/1 this email was sent - Please note, I have ask multiple times for size clarification. Simply providing a chart does not answer my questions. I'm now asking for custom service via phone. If this is not available, please provide a refund as I continue to have questions that go unanswered. On 1/10 after no progress I asked to have my deposit refunded. Which was denied. My daughter went the entire luge season without the suit that was originally ordered in November. As for your comment about providing suits to the military and Olympic athletes, please understand that my daughter is the current US youth luge national champion, so Thank You for your curt and condescending response. I’ll be sure to provide my thoughts and recommendations to her teammates and their family.
