I self certified during the pandemic. However, I forgot to get my vision test done until NYSDMV sent me a reminder that I needed a vision test or my license would be suspended. I definitely did not want that. But I hate going to the DMV because it is never a pleasant experience. I remembered hearing about Cleared to Drive during the pandemic but I must admit I thought it was too good to be true and that it was a scam! But then I saw that Cleared to Drive is listed as one of the many NYSDMV vision test locations. I got on the Cleared to Drive website made my vision test appointment and the rest is history! They have a lot of available time slots. Once i booked my appointment they sent me a link and a reminder the day of my appointment so i could take my test. I was connected to a representative (who verified my info) and then connected to Nancy (Optician). Both were kind, respectful and very professional. The vision test was quick and stress less. Once I passed my vision test another screen popped up and I entered my payment information ($49) for the vision test. Then the screen let me know my payment was accepted and that’s it. Then I was sent an email stating that I passed and letting me know what was next and in my case I was all set. I will be recommending Cleared to Drive to all my friends and family!
