Clear Choice Dental Implants complaint
Took my wife to have free full partial implants evaluation at Clear Choice in Ft. Lauderdale. Made an quick appointment (after I misunderstood my brother about him using their services in the past). Took me almost an hour and a half to reach their Dental office from where I was living. My mistake was not checking this Dental Implant Center before making the appointment. Arrived and my wife got the free Dental evaluation. Then the high pressure tactics started. The person in charge brought in the Dental Surgeon to explain to my wife it was vital that she got implants as soon as possible because her lower jaw bone was very thin. They made it seem like if she didn't get it done soon she will need bone surgery to be able to get implants in the near future thus much more expensive. So based on their evaluation of my wife's jawbone situation I decided to pay the $1,000.00 fee JUST TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT for her first initial visit. I was disturbed once I left the office and return home and found out my brother never used them before. So I decided to research complaints about Clear Choice that very same day. I was extremely disturbed and uncomfortable by several complaints to the BBB and other sites that I called and told him to cancel my wife's first initial visit appointment and to reverse the charge on my VISA account via email to the person in charge, to Clear Choice Office and a fax of my email to Clear Choice Office all in the same day. I mentioned that my wife never made the appointment thus no services were performed so there was no reason to reverse the charges on my Visa account. He emailed me back and said he would like to speak to me before I made any hard decisions. So I called the next day and talked to him. I told him it was partly the amount of the cost of the implants but mainly the negative disturbing reviews. He mentioned that the Dental Surgeon has performed over 10,000 surgeries. I said I rather get a second opinion than someone that works at Clear Choice. He said it would be no problem reversing the charge on my Visa account. That it will be done in 10-14 business days. What the person in charge didn't know that I had read of another Customer that did the exact same thing I did and cancelled her first initial first appointment on a BBB Complaint. It took the person several months to get her charge reversed and numerous calls to the Clear Choice office. Different office by the way in another state. So after 11 business days have passed and just before my VISA account statement date ended I disputed the Visa charge from Clear Choice. After 2 months my bank & Visa reverse the charge while at the same time giving me a Temporarily $1,000.00 credit on my account the same day I disputed the charge. Once my bank sided with me on my dispute the temporarily amount became permanent. Then about a day or two later someone tried to fax me a 100 copies of my contract that I signed with Clear Choice in Ft. Lauderdale. Luckily I was home at the time and stopped the faxing after one copy after reading there were 99 of 100 faxes to go. Then I blocked Clear Choice number after that. This is solely my opinion, But I believe that Clear Choice, as an unwritten rule, uses delaying tactics as a way to punish the Customer for not going to the initial evaluation visit and cancelling the visit. Otherwise why does it take several months to reverse a credit card charge and having the customer go through all the hassle with Clear Choice about the refund. Most ethical companies make credit card refunds within the first 2 weeks or within a month's time. This is the first time I hear about a company delaying a refund for several months. Anyways, if you feel comfortable and you decide yourself to use Clear Choice as your Dental company and you feel comfortable paying several thousands of dollar up front during the first visit than I hope everything goes well for you.
