False positive
I'm attempting to create an account on a website and my email address gets rejected by Clean Spam because apparently my 24 year old email address is on some black list. Review your black list please, then maybe I'll update my rating.

Hello,
Thank you for your review. We truly understand how frustrating unexpected charges can be, and we want to help clarify the situation.
Please note that auto-charges occur in the following scenarios:
1. When the auto-renewal option is active for your current license to ensure uninterrupted service.
2. When you add new websites to your Anti-Spam Dashboard, which may automatically upgrade your license plan to accommodate the additional sites.
To resolve this and allow us to investigate your specific case, please contact our support team through this link: https://cleantalk.org/my/support/open
We apologize for the inconvenience caused and look forward to assisting you further.
Kind regards.

CleanTalk is screening out valid leads and customers
Be warned if you are using CleanTalk on you contact forms, you may be BLOCKING good leads.
This morning I went online to book a large group dinner at a steak house in Las Vegas. They have a form to complete and submit for large groups. When I went to submit, it gave me an error on my email address "Forbidden. Sender blacklisted. Anti-Spam by CleanTalk." I checked and made sure that this was my business email I used daily. Annoyed I proceeded to try my two personal emails with the same error message.
I gave up trying to submit my request, but went to CleanTalk website to try to remove my emails from being blocked and found that there is no tool or option to verify an email or domain to remove from their list.
As a business owner I understand the desire to screen out spam, but whatever system CLEANTALK is using is not accurate.

Hello Randy,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — I understand how frustrating that experience must have been.
Sometimes a stale cache/CDN can surface an old block message even when the address is clean — we need the review exact case to confirm.
Since we don’t see any email addresses from you to check, so we can’t verify the specific case yet. Please run a quick self-check here and share the result with us: https://cleantalk.org/blacklists
Could you email us at [email protected] with:
— the website URL where this happened;
— the email(s) you tried.
We’ll investigate and coordinate with the site owner to prevent this from happening again.

I do not recommend this company at all.
I purchased CleanTalk’s "Site Security" package during a promotional offer that clearly included malware protection, firewall, brute-force protection, and spam blocking. What I got was a complete mess. Their plugins are disconnected, their licensing system is confusing, and worst of all—they make it nearly impossible to activate the services you paid for.
I spent over eight hours in one day uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, entering the correct access key, and trying to get basic features like two-factor authentication (2FA) to work—features they claimed were included. Instead, I was blocked, locked out, and told to check with my hosting provider as if it were my problem.
The Anti-Spam plugin never activated, even though it appeared functional. Their site shows no record of it, even after purchase and install. When I contacted support, I got vague replies, technical deflection, and zero accountability. They pass you off instead of fixing the issue, and even after multiple emails—including proof of payment—they still didn’t resolve it.
Their product is unstable. Their customer support is ineffective. And their system is designed in a way that actively works against the people trying to use it.
Save your money. Save your time. Find a provider that actually knows how to run a secure, user-friendly platform.
5/29/25 update after CleanTalk reply:
Your response is appreciated, but it completely misses the core issue.
I purchased your security package based on the features you advertised—two-factor authentication, malware protection, brute-force blocking, and firewall security. What I received was a broken, misleading system that wasted my time and left my site exposed.
Here’s the truth:
The two-factor authentication feature wasn’t just broken—it wasn’t even active.
It had not been released yet. That’s why I couldn’t turn it on. Your own tech support didn’t even know this. I was repeatedly told to “just check the box,” wasting hours trying to activate a feature that simply didn’t exist. That is a textbook example of false advertising.
Eventually, one support rep discovered that I had two accounts in your system. I’ll give credit for that. But let’s be clear: that did not solve the real problem.
Even after fixing the account issue, the product still did not work as advertised.
Misleading functionality:
Malware scans claimed to pass without scanning a single file.
Brute-force protection claimed to block attacks that were still hitting my site.
Legitimate services like GoDaddy uptime monitoring were being blocked while foreign IPs were being auto-whitelisted.
The user interface showed green lights and success messages—but behind the scenes, nothing meaningful was happening.
This isn’t a setup issue. It’s a product design issue.
The features you advertise are either not functional, not released, or hidden behind paywalls.
I’ve moved on to a provider that actually protects websites.
I strongly encourage other users to double-check their settings and scan logs—don’t assume you’re protected just because the dashboard says you are.
Thanks for the corporate brush-off.
This review stays up so others don’t waste their time or trust like I did.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback and we are truly sorry to hear about your experience.
We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when you were expecting something completely different. After reviewing your support conversation history, it appears that two separate issues have overlapped:
Two-factor authentication (2FA) issue
Recently, the latest plugin update introduced an issue that temporarily impacted 2FA activation on some installations. This was quickly fixed, but unfortunately, in some cases, it required a manual reinstallation of the plugin. We sincerely apologize for not communicating this more clearly at the time.
Duplicate account confusion
It appears that during the setup process you created two CleanTalk accounts, which resulted in confusion over license activation and maintenance status. This also made it difficult for our support team to quickly identify the issue.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and would be happy to provide you with personalized assistance.
Best wishes,
The CleanTalk Team
