Clean EmailReviews of clean.email

After several months of use, I permanently deleted my account. Unfortunately, I lost a number of important emails because of this service. The system frequently makes mistakes by automatically moving emails from Gmail into different folders, often bypassing the Primary inbox altogether. As a result, important messages can easily be missed. I spent a significant amount of time configuring the service, training it to recognize normal emails, important communications, and spam. Despite these efforts, the accuracy remained poor and the mistakes continued. In the end, the risk of missing critical emails outweighed any benefits the service provided.

Pretty useless to me and they don’t do refunds

Habe sofort das Abo gekündigt, zum November 2026. Das Abo kam nach meiner Recherche zustande, weil ich bereits 1000 E-Mails gelöscht hatte oder 25 Newsletter abbestellt hatte… keine Ahnung 🤷‍♀️ Ich versuche natürlich den Betrag durch Widerspruch zurück zu bekommen!

Not giving it 1 star only because the UI is really well organized and smooth to use. I might be a bit harsh here, especially since I have a ton of emails (around 120k), but that’s what the site says it can handle. The main issue is how long it takes to delete emails it’s really slow, and for some reason its take so much from browser memory that made my pc lag a little bit, I tried another service (an extension, won’t name it) that deleted 21k emails from the same sender in under 2 minutes, and it didn’t even slow down my pc. It’s a bit more semi-auto tho since it only deletes all emails from one sender at a time. Overall, not worth it. I appreciate the design and how smooth it feels, but it just doesn’t do the job. I’d rather use an ugly site with only HTML as a frontend that actually works smoothly than this.

I can't recieve emails period. Soon after I paid and subscribed I would get a no longer connected to email notification. It would ask if I revoked accessibility to CleanEmail Yes or No. I would press no, then emails would resume for 24 hours. Happened 3 times. Now no access to emails at all. Paid service on 11/16/2024. I don't believe they even have a customer service phone number.

Not sure that this does any more than using gmail filters.

Good software potentially, however the pitfalls are drastic. I have previously used many cleaning programs for email (e.g. unroll.me, mailstrom etc) and have had varying results. I was hoping that clean.email would allow me to quickly filter out who were my biggest offenders. Both my wife and I tried it and the service deleted months of (very important) emails. Thankfully for me some of these emails were recoverable - for her 3+ months of important emails were unable to be recovered. I initially tried it for our business as well and quickly realised that this could pose major long term problems. Refund: I requested a refund for our personal and business accounts, however to-date the service has only processed a partial refund for our personal account and no refund for our business account. Unsubscribe: Their unsubscribe feature is very basic and simply sends an email to the service you'd like to unsubscribe from. I would have hoped it activated an unsubscribe feature for the particular email subscription, but this was not the case. I would be very cautious about using this service - I do not think they are out to scam you as the service works as advertised, however their layout and options are too easy to cause major damage. I would not use this service again. I ended up achieving the same thing I wanted to using a combination of Outlook (desktop) + Email Meter. Manually unsubscribed, saw who were my greatest email senders (using emailmeter) and cleaned up my email inbox.
