Hi Gary, Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to clarify that our product is indeed suitable for your use, and while you’ve expressed concerns, those concerns have not materialized in practice. Let me explain: Regardless of whether the pin of the trailer hitch aligns flush with the exterior surface of the receiver tube, protrudes a quarter-inch, or even six inches, consider that when using bolt cutters to sever the bolt, the distance from the cutting position to the bolt's end does not alter the difficulty of the operation. This is because all the necessary shear strength of the pin is concentrated at the inner surface of the receiver tube, and all the shearing forces from the receiver tube are applied solely from the inner wall of the holes. Consequently, from a mechanical standpoint, the pin's protrusion length does not impact its shear performance, so there is no issue in this regard. Crucially, when the pin of the trailer hitch device is fully deployed, the internal design should ensure that the pin does not retract under any circumstances. Our seasoned designers have conducted meticulous planning and extensive testing during the creation of this innovative product to guarantee that the pin remains secure and does not retract. Rest assured, our trailer hitch device is as dependable as any on the market, with no risk of pin failure or connection issues. Feel free to reach out with any further questions!
