paid fee and person quit out over 100.00 for nothing at all
I posted my need for transportation and was contacted by a man and once they had the "broker" fee which was over ONE HUNDRED dollars, their person quit and said he was not able to take the job because someone threatened his job? He supposedly works for Southwest Airlines and does pets transportation on the side? Anyway, not able to get my pet moved and now I am out over ONE HUNDRED dollars for nothing at all. Not happy. I called customer service and they don't have a call center. I was given a message to email them. What? ok, sounds like this site is fraud. Terrible first experience. I AM OUT OVER 100.00 FOR NOTHING AT ALL

Hey Serena - I'm sorry to hear that a transportation provider backed out on the agreement. In cases like this you are entitled to a refund of your booking deposit fee. Please contact [email protected] and they will take care of it quickly. In addition, our team can help you find an alternative. Once again, I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience.

customer beware
I had a boat shipped across the country and had major problems with the shipper who gave me a bid on CitizenShipper. I feared that I would not receive the boat and needed to discuss the problems with them multiple times. There is no contact number so you need to send everything via email.
I ended up getting my boat, although a generator was stolen from the stern which was anchored and wired in. CitizenShipper sided with the shipping company who claimed it must have fallen off. (It had been dismantled.) The deceptive practices of this shipping company was criminal and the fact that CitizenShipper keeps them as an option for customers is deplorable. I would expect them to listen to first hand experiences from those of us who were lied to, deceived, and ripped off.

Hey Deborah, we are very sorry to hear about your experience with the driver you connected with on CitizenShipper and the bad experience you had. After receiving your complaint on the driver we locked and banned their account while we performed an investigation. Based on the information we received from you and the driver our understanding of the matter was that:
1. The driver successfully shipped your boat.
2. That the boat was delivered without the generator
3. That the driver claimed that the generator fell off during the transport.
4. That you had signed a contract with the driver stating "All loose parts, fragile or protruding accessories, .....must be removed or properly secured. Any parts that falls off in transit is the customer responsibility". We have a copy of this signed document.
From our investigation we could find no proof that the driver behaved fraudulently or deceptively or any evidence that theft occurred. We also looked at the drivers history on our site and discovered no pattern of similar behavior which is why the drivers account was re-instated.
We don't believe we have 'sided' with any party in this case. We do believe that we have looked at the evidence and made a judgement based on what we saw. Once again we are sorry that this has happened and that your experience was not of the highest caliber.

This site is complete crap
This site is complete crap. Terrible customer service representatives who only know how to use the same bullsh*t template to respond to problems. The driver who was supposed to ship my animal stole my money and never contacted me again. They refuse to refund my money and make things right. I am beyond pis*ed. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!!!!

Hey there Sasha. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. In cases like this we refund your booking deposit 100%, ban and lock the driver and begin an investigation at our end. If you used a payment method like Paypal or a Credit Card to pay the driver then this is usually retrievable. We'll be cooperating with you fully to track down this driver and do everything we can to help you get the money you paid to them back.

Hey Ron - we're very sorry to hear about your negative experience with drivers you found on CitizenShipper. Some comments on your review:
1. We do not operate a call center, however customer support can be reached on [email protected] and responses take less than 24 hours on business days.
2. If drivers cancelled on you then yes, you are 100% entitled to a refund of the CitizenShipper booking deposit. You can reach out to our customer support on [email protected] and they will help resolve this.
3. You mention a 'nasty note' that you received. Do you have a screen shot to prove this? Our customer support staff are highly trained and extremely professional.
4. As well as doing everything we can to help you, we also offer a five step dispute resolution process which we created to help in cases of disputes. https://citizenshipper.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/201017465-Dispute-Resolution
5. You mention that two drivers owe you $550. We strongly recommend against sending drivers any money up-front. Did these drivers have feedback on CitizenShipper? Did you send them money via a retrievable source (like paypal or credit card) or were you asked to use Western Union.
6. If you have been effected by scammers then we will immediately lock and ban their accounts, so please alert our customer service immediately.

Sadly not everything is always peaches…
Sadly not everything is always peaches and cream. As dog breeders we sometimes have to take an older dog back because life happens. This dog came from AZ to NM. The woman never let us know where they were, zero communication. When she finally called and I asked her if she had written instructions to our home? They would get lost otherwise. It's not hard to get to our home and I gave her clear markers so they would know where to go. She did agree to write it down, but quickly began whinning? Like a 10 year old. Trying to get us to meet them somewhere because she did not want to write it down. Upon arrival the dog was in tough shape. No water offered, so he drank so much water he puked. He could not hold his poo he had to go so bad. I would caution folks. Drivers are human. Be careful to really ask questions. The client hired this couple. He spoke to the husband and really liked him. His wife was very difficult. Shame on both for not tending to the needs of an animal. I'm pretty upset.

AGAIN THEY DESERVE NO STARS.
AGAIN THEY DESERVE NO STARS.
They replied to my previous complaint saying that they reached out via email, however they never replied aside from an automated response. They take no measures in accommodating users personally and address their concerns.
To clarify, after they left that comment, I went ahead and reached out to them once again and left a contact information for them to call me at. Not only did they NOT call me or texted, they NEVER acknowledged the email.

Seller shipped a dog to me no dog delivered
Seller shipped a dog to me. Before they would deliver the dog they wanted 900.00. Seller paid 500 and I paid 400. Followed instructions on how to send money through Walmart. Walmart would not release funds due to strong scam alert. Walmart refunded my 400. Citizen Shipper then asked for 100.00 to pay for a vaccination fee. Sent an ITunes card for the 100.00. Was told we were OK now and the puppy was being shipped and would be delivered in an hour and a half. Two and a half hours later I get an email saying I owed 300.00 for a City License Fee. Told them to deliver the puppy and I would pay them. They refused. Told me that they were going to report me for abandonment. Worst experience ever!
Response from CitizenShipperOct 21, 2017
Hey James, I'm so sorry to hear about this. CitizenShipper does not ask for vaccination fees, itunes cards, or anything else that you've described. This sounds like you've been the target of an unscrupulous individual. We encourage anyone using CitizenShipper to select drivers who have background verification and prior feedback from customers. Please report this drivers name to [email protected] and we will lock their account.

DO NOT transport your pet with this …
DO NOT transport your pet with this service. Citizen Shipper has no ability / interest in assisting or intervening if things go wrong. If you hire a random driver who goes AWOL with your pet, you will be on your own. We had hired a driver who had a good number of positive reviews, to drive our dog about 900 miles (Idaho to Arizona - a straight shot due south thru Nevada, a 1-2 day drive).
Long story short, the driver took it upon herself to take our dog on what would have been an 8 day cross-country trek (without our knowledge or permission). The company offered zero assistance, and I was so extremely concerned about the situation unfolding as I discovered that instead of her bringing the dog in our general direction, she was heading to the east coast (Maine... !) that I immediately got on a redeye flight to Minneapolis to retrieve the dog before she could take her any farther away, and transported her back to AZ myself. The driver was cooperative at least and did meet me at the agreed time/place, however upon obtaining the dog I was absolutely certain that I had done the right thing by intervening when I did. No doubt in my mind after witnessing firsthand. Our dog was fairly OK but I don't think it would have ended well had she been subjected to the 8 day road trip.
I urge any pet owners to avoid this service, it is not operated professionally and the drivers appear to be untrained, unscreened, and there's huge potential for something tragic to occur. Not worth it, hire a real pro transporter or make the time and do it yourself.

Hello I need help. I placed this on your site and hired a driver, xxx.
xxx picked up the dog OK on the agreed up on date/time, a little late but OK. That was yesterday evening. She is transporting the dog from [ ], ID to [ ], AZ. That is a 2-day drive max, due south.
The original job posted was for picking up on Oct 6 and arriving Oct 7. We communicated and she said she could pickup yesterday the 4th; she mentioned she had another pickup in Colorado beforehand, and in the absence of any other information, we assumed she would be heading south to AZ after picking up our dog.
The driver has now just informed me that rather than heading in my direction, she is now in South Dakota and heading “east” and she will not be delivering the dog until the “11th or 12th”. ???? What insanity is this? [she picked up the dog on the 4th] I would never have agreed had I known she would be driving the dog all over the country before coming here. ***
Hope this is helpful to someone contemplating this service.
