Worst customer service ever. For over 4 weeks I am now trying to get a legitimate invoice for my annual membership in a PDF format with basic information such as invoice date which the automated email „invoice“ lacks resulting in rejection from my company expense auditors. Even after several back and forth exchanges nobody seems to be capable to get this basic request resolved. I cannot believe how an arguably professional organization seems to be incapable to resolve such a basic customer request, not to mention providing a legit invoice to begin with. I guess I made the wrong choice for my commuters benefit.

I’m sitting and waiting at a station…
I’m sitting and waiting at a station that doesn’t have a single bike in the 40 or so docks. There are too many stations with broken or unavailable bicycles. Too many broken docks. This is the most poorly maintained service I’ve ever experienced. Citibike feels like a company perpetually on the edge of bankruptcy. Nothing works and no one seems to be fixing it.

A nightmare for commuters – poor bikes and chaotic infrastructure
I recently started using Citi Bike, expecting a convenient way to get around NYC, but the experience was disappointing and, frankly, felt unsafe.
Equipment & Navigation:
The bikes are heavy, slow, and extremely uncomfortable. There are no phone holders, which is a major flaw. Since the in-app navigation is unreliable, I had to stop every 30 seconds to check my phone. This is not only frustrating but dangerous when you're trying to keep up with the pace of the city.
The Docking Nightmare:
Ending a ride is nearly impossible. Most stations are located far away from the main "Velo" routes like the Hudson River Greenway. The real nightmare is trying to get to them: you are often separated from the docks by a massive highway, and the pedestrian tunnels or bridges are frequently closed due to construction. You are essentially trapped on the path with no way to exit and dock the bike before the 30-minute surcharge kicks in. Even if you manage to reach a station, they are often completely full, leaving you with nowhere to park and forcing you to continue searching while the clock is ticking.
Infrastructure & Traffic Chaos:
The bike infrastructure is a mess. I followed signs that were supposed to lead to a bike route, only to be sent up and down steep hills in circles, eventually ending up at a highway entrance. To make matters worse, you often find yourself abruptly dumped into heavy traffic where everyone drives exactly how they want. There is no respect for cyclists, and the lack of clear signage makes it a gamble every time you turn a corner.
Summary:
The city's bike infrastructure feels completely disconnected from the Citi Bike system. Between the poor bike quality, the misleading maps, the inaccessible docks, and the lawless traffic conditions, this service is far from the "cool" experience it claims to be. It is exhausting and poorly managed.

Too expensive
Too expensive, it is a scam. All bike deposits are full so you are never able to park your bike within the 30 min limit for a day pass

Cancelling my Citibike membership
I am cancelling my Citibike membership that I have had for quite a few years. I used to really like Citibike when it was not owned by Lyft. I am a senior and I cycle for exercise and it was usually easy to find a regular peddle bike, but now that Lyft has taken it over, the bikes are all heavy clunky electric bikes, many not working. I have not had one pleasant experience this year, so I have cancelled my membership. Please bring back ordinary bikes, and senior rates.

They charge 3 months minimum and…
They charge 3 months minimum and auto-renew after that. $45 to cancel early. Also very poor quality bikes.

Citi Bike is not reliable
Citi Bike is not reliable. It is a great concept, but in practicality, it is not very functional. Luckily, I don’t use it for work because it is unreliable. I can’t count how often I have been late to appointments because there are no working bikes or the station at my destination is full. Yes, it has given me the freedom about 70% of the time. That percentage is not high enough to take the risk of either missing or being late. The manual bikes are a total joke. I am not the only one who complains. I have many friends who utilize these services. They complain about the same thing I just stated. What a shame, it is the best way to get around our beautiful city when it works properly.

Not worth it - overpriced, faulty bikes, worst customer service experience
We took our daughter for our first trip to NYC and heard biking around the city was a great way to see it. There were additional charges for e-bikes which wasn't well advertised. After riding around central park, the bike wouldn't dock. We tried over 30 docks at two different stations. We were stranded with this bike. Friendly locals and even an ebike repair employee tried to help. We spent 2 hours on the phone, then another hour the next day, then another 2 hours the next day trying to deal with the situation and charges. It put a real damper on our trip.
