Need Better Solutions for Children’s Place Order Mistakes
Purchased items online during the Black Friday sale. When the order arrived, one of the items ordered was missing. Contacted Children’s Place customer service to try to get them to simply ship the missing item, but the customer service representative informed me that she could only provide me with a “reward,” which wasn’t even enough to repurchase the missing item now that the sale was over. However, I was willing to use the “reward” and pay the difference. The representative did not tell me at the time that I needed an account in order to use the “reward.” I had checked out as a guest and do not wish to create an account. When I contacted customer service a second time to inform them of my issue with the “reward,” the representative offered to refund the original payment which was a gift card so I could repurchase the item. When I hadn’t received the gc to my email 2 days later, I had to contact customer service again to be informed that it would take 3-6 weeks for the gift card to process. Neither of these solutions would’ve been acceptable to me if I was provided with all the information at the time they were offered. The condescending supervisor, Jason, told me, “He would keep this in his head and coach his representatives in the future,” but I now have to wait 3-6 weeks to see IF my order issue gets resolved. I hope this helps someone else make a more informed decision on how best to resolve an issue with their order. Note: retail stores cannot help with online orders issues; store associates will simply tell you to contact online customer service.
