Not the most truthful company
I wouldn’t be surprised if this company ended up on the show American greed. So many misleading statements and lies from them. Took the car to the dealership and was told the company would only pay 1/3 of what the dealership was charging us. Um okay we were out of pocket $200 for diagnostics. Would’ve been nice if champion car warranty told us from the beginning that they only pay the OEM national price. Felt a little misleading when they told us upon our signing up that “we just pay the bill” Then took the car to our mechanic. The price ended up being $1400 which we were authorized for half of that price. The part cost $900 and when we told them what it cost they told us they would overnight the part to the mechanic but our mechanic said they never did and that took a week of my husband asking “Where is the part?” “Oh it’s coming” LIE! They never sent it! Why lie? Then they told my husband they told our mechanic to just get the part by himself, um okay but why did my car have to sit in the shop for a week with nothing being done to it? Could’ve done that from the beginning. Our mechanic said he kept waiting for any part of communication from them. In total we were approved for $675 of the total cost of $1400 that our mechanic was charging. It took over a week for us to finally get them to pay our mechanic. We were told so many different things.”Oh, the guy who pays with the credit card isn’t here right now“ “let me put you on hold” “Let me have him call you back.”. After 3 or 4 days of this nonsense we finally got his number and left messages but he of course never returned our call. We were also told they will call your mechanic on Sunday even though we said our mechanic isn’t open on Sunday. They had so many stall tactics and excuses. Not getting the logic of a lot of their excuses other than they didn’t want to pay it. We couldn’t track down the guy with the credit card to pay what was authorized! meanwhile, my car sat there for two weeks with their excuses and stall tactics. We were very close to finally just calling our credit card company and just letting them know this company is a fraud and we need our money returned. My husband finally went to the mechanics shop so him and the mechanic can call this champion car warranty guy who supposedly holds the credit card to pay. He kept getting put on hold until finally my husband said “No please don’t put me on hold I just want this thing paid and please don’t call me back can you just please pay this now?“ And finally it got paid. I do not recommend this company at all and I wish that I would’ve went with the car dealerships warranty which would have been more in price but at least we would’ve been dealing with a reputable honest company. Please do not go to this company. The only reason why these people got a two star review is because they did actually pay something after we spent many days calling them to do so.

Hi Ms. Cohen, We’re sorry to hear about your recent experience with the claim on your vehicle. Regarding the part shipment, we did order it to your mechanic, but we were later told the part was on backorder and would not be in stock for some time. Therefore, we then authorized the amount for the part replacement directly to your shop. Regarding the actual payment of the claim, it is our company policy that we require a final invoice from the shop before remitting payment; this is standard practice and is in place to ensure that the repair has actually been completed before we pay out the claim. Ultimately, we did pay out the claim once we received that final invoice. We apologize for any miscommunication that may have occurred, but we are a fully reputable company, as evidenced by us paying out the claim. Best, Champion Car Warranty Team
