I was almost done with my course and I couldn't get back in . Star who was helping me we tried for 45 min and nothing worked. I said I need to finish today they said they couldn't help me and that I needed to start all over again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME !!!!!

Hi Jennifer, that's an awful place to get stuck, especially that close to finishing. Star sticking with you for 45 minutes says a lot about the effort that went into trying to fix it live. If a technical lockout truly can't be resolved in the moment, your progress up to that point should still be saved on the account rather than lost, which is worth confirming rather than assuming a full restart is the only option. We don't have enough information from your review to locate your account, so please email us at [email protected] and we'll make this right for you. – Certus

What was supposed to be a 5 hour course…
What was supposed to be a 5 hour course turned into 10 hours of glitches and frozen screens.

Don’t do it
Don’t do it! Software was complete crap from attempted start to no finish. Error messages routinely fill screen when trying to access course or return to main page. Software is a complete hack job. Customer service and support is MIA. Don’t do it!

Ugh!
Ugh! With my original defensive driving certification from American Safety Council test in 2023 expiring February 17, 2026, I completed my 2026 test on January 18th. The test was fine but my 2026 certificate never arrived and I forgot about it until my next car insurance bill arrived in early April. I contacted ASC on 4/2/26 (driversafetysupportATcertus.com) to ask for sending and the rep confirmed my completion and I confirmed my course ID, address and phone on April 3.
Another email on April 7: “Has my certificate been mailed? I'm renewing my insurance soon and need it to lower my premium.” No reply but I went to my profile on their site April 9 and found they needed more info than in 2023. I never got a request for additional 2026 info, but my completion was quietly stalled. Once I added new data to the profile I got this notification:
Congratulations, you have successfully completed the New York Defensive Driving course! You will receive an official certificate in the mail within 14 business days…
My next email on April/19: “I found that I had to update my profile to release my proof of completion on your site. I did this on April 9, 2026 but have yet to receive it. Can you please check to confirm that it's been mailed? My insurance is up for renewal by May 5.”
It was not. Their rep’s reply: “Your certificate will be shipped to this address and is expected to arrive within 7–10 business days via USPS… For future orders, we recommend selecting either Rush Processing or Overnight Shipping at checkout to ensure faster delivery.”
My reply: “I'm pretty ticked off that my certificate did not go out 10 days ago when your site first told me to allow for it. I made it clear to the last support person I corresponded with that I needed it by May. With reasonably timely release, your normal turnaround should have sufficed with no rush processing necessary. And now you're telling me it never went out on April 9 or 10 when I satisfied your site's new profile requirements, different than last time, that it never told me about in the first place!? And I have to wait an additional 7-10 business days? Can't you do better than this?”
ASC reply on April 21: “Apologies for the hassle. The reshipment request for your certificate to your updated address was already completed. As the information update was made last April 9, 2026, it was scheduled to ship out, and that made the latest date the 23rd of April. Please do expect your certificate to be received within the given time-frame.”
My May 5 email to them: “I am VERY upset that I have not yet received my certificate for the course I finished in JANUARY! Your 7-10 business days are long gone. Please send me my certificate in FREE expedited fashion. This is ridiculous!”
ASC reply May 8: “Apologies for what happened. As the certificate has not been received, we will be glad to resend it via FedEx within 2-3 business days. With this, could you please reconfirm your address, or do you have any alternative one? Please don't worry, our relevant team will be diligently working on it to have you provide an update as soon as possible.”
May 20, 2026: My certificate finally arrived by FedEx.
I will NOT be using ASC again and neither should you.

Hello, Joe! We are truly sorry for the frustrating experience you had. The delays in receiving your certificate, the lack of proactive communication about the additional profile requirements, and the time it took to finally get this resolved are not acceptable, and we completely understand your disappointment. We're glad your certificate did ultimately arrive, but we recognize the process caused you real stress and inconvenience — especially with your insurance renewal on the line. We will use your feedback to improve our processes. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we're sorry we fell short.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!
DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!! They have no customer service. This is the worst company I have worked with in a long time. They did not mail the certificate needed for the insurance reduction after completion of the course. I gave them an extra 14 days. When I called, they did not have a direct way to access customer support. When I did access customer support, they would not transfer me to a supervisor. I said that I expected expedited delivery because of how long it has taken them to comply with their advertised timeline. All I got was an email that it would take another 14 days. I've reported them to the BBB. I will also be contesting the charge for the course with the credit card company. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!!!

Poor design
The app is not designed for mobile devices. You can’t do full screen, and many of the buttons are non-responsive. You spend more time navigating the screen to try to see all of it and then you do absorbing content. It’s a really poorly designed app.

Thieves
Thieves. I paid for a "Complete 7-year driving record." They charged me around $30, sent me a very incomplete record. Their website bot said "Sorry - Go to the DMV to get your complete record" I demanded a refund. Their computer bot refused. What a friggin' ripoff company!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating that must be.
Certificates are issued once all course requirements are completed, and we definitely don’t want anyone feeling stuck or unheard. We’d like to look into this—please respond to our Trustpilot request with your details so we can investigate and help.
