In 2026 it is absurd to still have 12 hr service window. If a company gives me a 4 hr window I still complain. Companies like xfinity and At&t are giving 2 hr windows. Monopolies are not good

I am never late. A "customer in good standing". Last month a payment I made from my bank's bill pay but after 3 weeks it hadn't applied ( I called Centerpoint to be sure it wasnt there) I canceled the payment through my bank and paid it through Centerpoint's 3rd party billing (Speed pay) the same day. Once paid I called Centerpoint back to ensure my payment was made and a different CS rep told me my 1st payment was "pending". I explained a stop payment was performed by my bank but I made the payment through Speed pay. My next bill was $19.00 weird amount but I promptly paid it. My recent bill reflects a $25 reversal fee for the "lost" payment a past due amount carried forward for the reversed payment and current amount due! I called CS spoke to Alexis who blatantly accused me of not paying my bill... I was given a customer service email to contact to discuss my dilemma. I have sent my bank statement proving payment and a detailed statement about what happened. It has been 10 days with 0 response. I have called CS since only to get yet someone else who felt the bill my have generated after my payment reversed. It's not in my bank account. I paid the "past due" amount today. I give up.. I was going to be shut off 3/11 if not. Ridiculous that I can't get anyone to respond. The economy is hard enough without having to pay twice until I get resolution to avoid having my gas shut off.. I feel I will never get an answer from them. They are a multi billion dollar company and I'm obviously not worth their time
