We were behind on payments which I know is my fault. But I call to see if we could set up a payment arrangement and nope they don'tdo that. Our gas is shut off with a winter weather advisory and below zero coming for the weekend. We get the money to get it turned on & we have to wait 6 days! They could care less if you freeze to death or not!!

Three days after paying my bill and leaving a 100 dollar balance, I am threatened with a 430 dollar security deposit if not paid on due date and a undisclosed reconnect fee. A bill I was going to pay the following week they will also call you without your permission if you ever call late, also after these recent explosions they or going around and checking outdoor meters many or found to have leaks and probably have had for years !If you have a leak they don't give you a new meter they replace the seal and paint it to look new.

I have had the unfortunate experience of working with your business and customer service team. My gas was turned off with no notice on my new construction home on a weekend. Sure enough, Centerpoint Energy is closed on weekends so I have to wait til Monday before I get my stovetop, dryer, or hot water back on. I called first thing Monday to schedule the soonest apt for reconnection and was told same-day connections cost about $50 bucks. We scheduled for the day following to save a few $ and I was told I would have at least a 30-minute heads up prior to a technician coming out. The reason I WASTED almost two hours of my Tuesday morning calling, being hung up, and being passed from one customer service rep to the next with the suggestion that I was being connected to a manager/supervisor was because out of nowhere I get an email saying I missed my appointment! No missed calls, no voicemail, no heads up... just an email saying I need to call and reschedule! Additionally, I check my door cam and find footage of some tech knocking on the door once and then start kicking the column on my porch to knock the mud off of his boots. So I called and was told that I can either pay that $50 fee to have him come back out for a same-day reconnection or schedule for the following day... I'm dizzy at this point, is this a Deja Vu!? I own a fine jewelry business, manage real estate and work in the exotic car industry, I could never get away with this kind of service, but hey what does CenterPoint Energy have to lose, there's no competition to run to when they mess things up! I requested to be connected with a manager or someone with the authority to make things right by sending a tech back out, of course, supervisors are totally unreachable. The only way to be connected is to open a case and wait at least 24-48 hours! What a joke, this is a tactic to dodge customers when they need you. The service staff literally put me on two 20-30 minute holds only to pass me off to one of their colleagues who would have me retell my story and then find out they were not in fact a supervisor/manager! Shanda was the last person I connected with and while she stayed on the script she was totally unhelpful and dismissive. I'm exhausted and cannot stress enough how badly I wish there was an alternative gas supplier I could switch to, the last thing I want to do is support CenterPoint Energy in any way shape, or form.

Centerpoint Energy has to be one of the worse customer service monopolies around. I called to get the gas shut off at a rent house I sold. A month later they are still drafting the amount out of auto payments I set up. I called this morning ,third time to contact them about this. Thought it was taken care of this morning, then, out of the blue, the gas man comes to my house, not my sold rent house, while I was at the store and cut my personal house gas off. I never talked about my personal house, but about the rent house. I have talked to several “representatives” all but one were very nice, but still unable to get 5his resolved! Now, here I am on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend and a house of company rolling in this evening and NO GAS! I can’t express how incompetent I feel everyone at Centerpoint Energy is! Glad they don’t furnish our electricity.

I’ve had the home service plus plan for a couple of months now. Our 1st time scheduling an appt was easy; however today we received for the 2nd time (same appt) a rescheduled appointment with no prior notification or call after waiting in all day (again). Dreadful service, waste of money and needless to say we cancelled this plan.

If you find yourself in the middle of no where and need their services -Don't use them. You'll only be regretful and angry. Expensive to use. Expensive WITH terms. Heavy cost to your credit if any discrepancies are made. They will send or keep you in the poor house & not provide you with energy services with a smile. Over pay so that you aren't without services because they will shut you down and report you to the credit bureau day 1 by 5pm while you're pregnant. I'd say the customer service reminds me of the police and their lack of compassion is the brutality.I was most happy to not deal with them after moving away because of the savings in money. Gas companies are the worst!
