CenterPoint Energy is the worst U.S. electric utility in the country. Most outages in the the entire country with days out downtime and outages. Complete embarrassment of a company. Without power all of today 3rd time losing power this month!

We lose power frequently with this company. Unacceptable, it would be nice to have an alternative.

Was away from home Friday when gas was shut off - immediately paid bill not even 30mins later. Monday morning gas Still off - never encountered late payment ior interruption in 5 years service with Centerpoint. No phone call alerting interruption. Emergency line useless... So how long before gas service is up and running again. Why does it take so long? Gas is an essential asset. Traumatic experience. Still waiting for service...

They are always shutting the power off in our neighborhood and they call it planned power outages.. middle of summer, blazing hot. In the middle of cooking. Now i can't eat and I have to work hungry. Centerpoint is the absolute worst! Get it together and stop surprising people with these power outages! This happens way too often!!!

Do NOT buy the Home Service Plus Plan. We had a CenterPoint tech come out in April to repair our furnace. He replaced the furnace control board (which controls both the furnace and AC). We realized the control board was wired incorrectly when our AC didn’t work in June. We’ve been without AC for about a month through multiple weeks of 90+. When we called to report the error, the customer service rep said our plan didn’t cover AC repair and reminded us that the tech encouraged us to purchase additional coverage for the AC. Seems like a weird coincidence!! We canceled ASAP.

Their communication on what is covered when you call in and what they actually cover are 2 different issues. I can't stress enough that you are better off not being a customer and calling a service provider to address when you have an issue. You will come out thousands ahead in the long run. Centerpoint claims they protect your equipment, but when you actually need them, they tell you to buy new before they even know what the problem is. Subscribe at your own risk but you can't say you weren't warned.

Review Title: Unacceptable Delay and Poor Communication I have been without power for over 30 hours, and the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. I was told a technician would arrive between 8 AM and noon today to temporarily disconnect my power so the electrician could fix the wire your team damaged. It has now been over five hours past the scheduled time, and every time I call, I’m repeatedly assured that the technician is “on the way.” This needs to be completed ASAP so the electricians can finish their work, and your team can reconnect my power so I can have service today! The lack of urgency and transparency is extremely disappointing. I expected better reliability and communication, especially in a situation as critical as restoring power to my home.
