EDIT: After writing this review, Ben reached out to rectify this. I’ve bought a handful of bottles from Ben in the past. He’s reliable via email and he does have great prices, however I recently bought a 98 Giacosa Riserva (not a cheap bottle at all) and was very disappointed upon opening to find that it was heat damage. When I told Ben, he said it must’ve been a “so so bottle.” I understand that’s the gamble with old cellar sourced wines, however given the utter lack of sympathy, I can’t trust that the cellars Ben acquires are reliable. It wasn’t just a “so so bottle.” It was undrinkable. For close to $400 (and that’s just one bottle in my order!) I would’ve expected more than just sympathy.

I bought a one time gift of Taylor's Port 1948. The description called it Cracked cap Taylors Port, which I thought to be a contemporary allusion that I do not understand. However it referred perfectly straightforwardly to the condition of the cap, which was cracked. When we drew the cork it fragmented and we had to leave some of it floating inside. This is not a happy experience when you pay $1200 for a wine for someone's 70th BD. I think a straightforward description would be more honorable and just. The wine was fine. Agatha

Ordered 1997 Cabernet and two of three bottles were bad. Happens but perhaps the cellar had some issue.

Good price and great selection. Only down side is expensive shipping; which is not disclosed until after purchase is made. $20 for a 2 bottle shipment is unreasonable especially for standard ground shipping. Now that I know, I will factor into price prior to purchasing.

Check fedex rates before you think my rates are expensive. Actual cost was 23.

Posted some wine at a great price on-line but after I purchased it, they quickly emailed to say they didn't have it and offered some alternatives. Cordial in the first few emails but quickly became one or two word responses. I bought another bottle and was happy with the price but the shipping was $20 for ground shipping and I am able to get a full case of wine shipped from further away for $19 so I thought that was a little high, I would buy again but only if the value was there because the shipping could catch up to the value. Hopefully the wine is in good shape and not tainted and I can't wait to enjoy it!

Cellaraiders is great. However, they email you CONSTANTLY asking you to review their service. It's annoying. I don't want to be emailed every five days asking for a review. One request for a review is enough. After that, STOP!

The 1966 vintage is hard to find. That's a plus for you. I purchase a lot of wine online but I have never had to pay over $11 a bottle for ground shipping. That's a rip off.
