Data Breach at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Medical Records
Data Breach at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Medical Records Cedars-Sinai refers me to a Medical Specialist Office, where their office staff has access to Cedar-Sinai’s ERP System containing Cedar-Sinai Patient Records. Problem: A staff member who lacks integrity at the Medical Specialist Office unilaterally changes the time of an appointment to a time when the office is “closed” for lunch. The change was deliberate, not executed by accident because the office called me multiple times prior to the changed appointment time ensuring that I would come to the appointment at the changed time (when the office is closed, and have a sign on the door stating that they are closed). Note, during the calls did the office mention that the time was changed (just mentioned the new time), nor did they respond to my question as to why the time changed. Data Breach, someone (lack integrity) with access to Cedars-Sinai Medical System performing unauthorized changes to my medical records. As long as the person who performed this data breach continues to have access to Cedar-Sinai medical records, the privacy of every Cedar-Sinai patient’s medical records is at risk. A Formal Complaint was submitted to Cedars-Sinai, but they obviously wish to downplay the impact of a Data Breach.
