Fooled me twice, shame on me. My daughter took her car to CB for simple oil change. A few days later noticed an oil leak. When she took her car back they charged her for $169 diagnostic and recommended a bunch of work. I took my car there a week ago for simple oil change. The next day there was a large puddle of oil on garage floor. When we took it back in they wanted to do a $169 diagnostic instead of just figure out what went wrong with oil change. We got our money back and are taking it somewhere else.

On November 3, 2023, I took my car to this shop for an oil change. Several weeks later I noticed an oil leak with drops on my garage floor. I waited a bit to see if it continued and it did, and my gut told me something was not right. I took my car to a different shop for another oil change after only 1500 miles, and they told me that my oil filter and drain plug were loose and the filter was about to come off. The engine oil had leaked all over the bottom of the motor from the loose filter. That explains the drops on my garage floor. Also, Christian Brothers was very pushy about upselling me both a fuel additive and a coolant pressure test and charged me almost $50 for 8 ounces of coolant, which may or may not have been necessary. If I had not checked and taken my car to a different shop it would have been likely that the oil would have all leaked out and my engine would have been ruined. This is inexcusable. This is the WORST mistake any repair shop can make. Changing the engine oil and filter and tightening them properly is basic and simple to do. This shop was unable to do even this simple work properly. UPSELL PRESSURE + INCOMPETENT WORK = NOT RECOMMENDED.

Overinflated pricing and nonessential repair requirements for Inspection. Quoted $3500 for repairs (vehicle only worth about 6,000.) Gulp! Went for a second opinion and spent a fraction of that cost.

Do Not Use!! Alignment Work Is Not Under Warranty! I recently had major work done by Christian Brother in Tega Cay and asked them to do a tire alignment on the car. A week later I got on the highway for the first time and noticed the car pulled strongly to the right at highway speeds. Took the car back today for them to re-do the alignment and was quoted $120 for the work. I explained that they just did an alignment 1.5 weeks ago and that I should not be charged. Their response? "We don't warranty alignments." Use at your own risk! I will never use them again.

I would not recommend. Seem like nice people but the estimate I was given to simply get a state inspection was Very overinflated. If you do decide to take your chances, I would recommend getting a second opinion before getting out the checkbook.

Staff was friendly. Shop was impeccably clean inside and out. Free shuttle service. Free visual vehicle inspection. I am not in the target market that values such things at the expense of a $1412 estimate for an oil change and replacement of a Blower Motor ($93 part at O’Reilly) that a mechanic elsewhere replaced in less than 30 minutes while I waited. Service manager flat out lied and said that there was no way I could purchase the part anywhere close to $100, blathering on about prices on the internet…. When I booked the appointment I told them the blower motor had stopped working and then it sent out smoke. To their credit, The $100 diagnostic charge was reversed and I received a colorful plastic keychain containing a coupon for $5 off my next service. I saved well over $1000 NOT having the work done at Christian Brothers Automotive.

Truly disappointing experience…Christian Brothers’ work on my car was completed improperly and caused significant damage to my vehicle, resulting in their insurance company totaling it afterward. Unfortunately, Christian Brothers has refused to refund the charges for their work and has fought the insurance process every step of the way. Though the value of the vehicle was ultimately paid by Christian Brothers’ insurance company following the insurance company’s investigation, their policy only covers damages. Actual charges for the work are not covered by their insurance policy, so the customer is left to rely on the company to do the right thing and refund charges for improperly-completed work. Unfortunately, Christian Brothers has refused to refund their charges for the work that damaged my car beyond repair. I do believe that the damages were originally an honest mistake, but the dishonesty that has followed the mistake has been truly disappointing. Christian Brothers advertises a warranty on their work and even goes as far as claiming to be a faith-based company with a particular commitment to “ethical and excellent automotive repair services” based on living out their religious beliefs. Unfortunately, I cannot verify any substance or sincerity to these claims based on my experience. Christian Brothers’ behavior has been a total let-down, particularly given the lofty claims they make about their commitment to ethics and excellence. I will be taking my future business elsewhere.
