Bought a Porsche on their site and went to pick up the vehicle and it was totally misrepresented. The pictures were all taken in a way to hide flaws. I also had engine issues also. There was also a big scratch that happened after the auction started and the seller did not notify me. Cars and bids offered no support and said just try to work it out. Beware you have been warned.

Hi John,
We apologize for your negative experience using Cars & Bids. In the rare case where a car is misrepresented, we always work with both the buyer and seller in an effort to reach an amicable solution.
After reviewing our recent sales, I couldn't identify a Porsche with a winner named John that had these issues. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with more information so we can assist.

Illegal business practicies
I attempted to use the website of the company (Cars & bids) to post my vehicle for sale and the company emailed me that the vehicle matches the car's listing criteria. They kept asking if I want to change my mind and I list the car as a "no reserve" auction in order to make sure that the car is sold no matter what the auction closing bid might be and that the company gets its 4.5% commission of the sale regardless if the consumer got his aimed price or not. I declined that offer as I want to preserve my financial asset in the car and not sell it below a certain price. Later, they replied that they will not list my car for auction UNLESS I chose the no reserve auction. That is nowhere is their website nor their policy that lists such requirement not to inform the consumer that the company may solely make such a choice for its own financial interest with no regard whatsoever to the consumer's financial interest.
In regards to the company's response: The uniform commercial code clearly states that "Such a sale (auction) is with reserve unless the goods are in explicit terms put up without reserve". So the company can't solely decide if a consumer must auction his item as a no-reserve or not. You simply violated and infringed on the consumer's right.

Hello,
We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your experience using Cars & Bids. As we explained when reviewing your E-class, running cars at this price point with a reserve just stops bidding. While listing your car at no reserve may sound scary or daunting, the truth is a good percentage of our nearly 10,000 auctions are no reserve and only a handful of sellers haven't been thrilled with the outcome. With over 275,000 registered users viewing and bidding on auctions daily, it is rare the bid will not meet or exceed the market value of a vehicle. Most sellers thank us for the recommendation and comment that they are pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
With all of that said, we're sorry that we couldn't come to an agreement on listing your car. We wish you the best of luck in selling your Benz and appreciate you bringing it to us.

no buyers fee refund even if seller might be a scammer
I bid on a Rolls Royce and won the auction. Then I flew across the country to view the car after winning because I didn't want to wire a large amount to a stranger without first viewing the car/paperwork. There were a lot of red flags so I decided to not finalize the deal. I still had to pay the $4500 buyers fee. Cars & Bids did not care that the deal did not go through. I guess that explains why they have an F with the Better Business Bureau. Needless to say, I will not be making my future car purchases with them.

Hi Mauricio,
We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your experience using Cars & Bids. Our team made repeated attempts to contact you in reference to what went wrong with the sale, and you did not answer our clarifying requests. The last contact we had from you indicated that you saw the car, planned to fly home, and then wire the funds to the seller. But after being prompted to wire the funds by the seller you simply didn't respond to either the seller or us. By failing to follow through with your winning bid, you violated our terms of use, forfeited your buyer's fee, and your account was subsequently banned.
We would be happy to review the circumstances of this auction; please contact us at [email protected] with any additional information you can provide.

First and last time using them to sell a car...
First time using them and this will be the LAST! (Seller point of view)
First of all they took almost 3 weeks for my EV to listed, they said "this will be the best outcome for my vehicle"
They low ball you and convince you to lower your reserve (minimum you will accept once the bidding is over) they said lower reserves get better outcomes and usually sell much more than the reserve. It sold for a little over 1k above the reserve. I was shooting to get at least 8k more than the reserve!
Lastly, I did not see them promote my vehicle at ALL, I follow them on FB and IG and not once they promoted my truck.
In summary, try to sell your car on your own, you will be better off!

Hi Cisco,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are constantly improving, and your input helps us in this effort.
We're sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the time it took for your Lightning to go live, and with the final auction price. After reviewing our records, we see that there were a couple of delays in getting your listing live, particularly while waiting to list your truck so that it didn't overlap with other comparable Lightning models. We will evaluate these delays and work to address them in the future.
We are also constantly evaluating our reserve setting and communication. While it is always possible that an auction is bid beyond your originally requested reserve, a reserve is a mutually-agreed minimum price for the vehicle. It's unfortunate that you're not satisfied with the result, as it did exceed the reserve.
Finally, we ensure that all auctions are included in our Facebook and Instagram stories twice - the day they go live, and the day they are closing. We are unable to feature all cars with individual posts and must choose auctions that our audience is likely to enjoy.
If you have any questions or concerns you are more than welcome to communicate with our team through your seller chat or by emailing us at [email protected].

Auctioned a 2018 911 GT3 on…
Auctioned a 2018 911 GT3 on Carsandbids.com Carsandbids took about two weeks to produce and schedule a listing, with an additional week for the auction to take place. At no point through this process were bidders qualified by C&B to my knowledge. The auction hit my reserve price on the first day, with no further bids. When the auction concluded, the buyer informed me that he was backing out of the sale. Per C&B policy, I should receive 50% of the fees collected by C&B from the buyer and they will be banned permanently from the platform. Well, to date I have not received any money from C&B, and the user has not been banned. C&B support through this process has been nonexistent. I was told they were "working to convince the buyer to follow through" but that is a lost cause, and in the interim I am receiving no support, guidance, etc. about relisting the vehicle, or any recourse whatsoever.
While I feel C&B failed me in the post-auction support, they also failed in qualifying their bidders. There should be some verification of income or liquidity to bid beyond a certain level.
**In response to the reply from C&B, several people have commented on the auction listing since closing stating their interest, yet C&B does not allow buyers or sellers to contact each other privately in these cases. C&B support claimed they were going to work to try to close a deal for me with another interested party, which was nonsense.

Hi Matt,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are always working to improve our site and services, and your direct input really helps.
Our team diligently pushed the high bidder to honor their commitment. Unfortunately, the winning bidder did not complete the sale and instead forfeited their buyer's fee and has had their rights to submit, bid, and comment removed. We further attempted to contact other bidders, though none were willing to make a legitimate offer to purchase your GT3.
As you mentioned, our team will follow up with you 90 days after the auction ended to split the buyer's fee with you. This 90-day period ensures that the buyer's fee is collected in full.
We appreciate your feedback regarding bidder qualification. Our team has evaluated this in the past and it continues to be a topic of concern.
Finally, we would greatly appreciate direct communication when encountering challenges. Our team is always available at [email protected] and can respond much more quickly when contacted directly. We are truly sorry about this unfortunate auction result and hope that you consider us for future auctions.

My advice, sell on you own.
Don’t leave it to the “experts” when it comes to scheduling the auction. My advice would be not to have your auction run during a holiday weekend, and request an end time for the auction after 5 pm, when ordinary working people can actually participate. Be aware that they won’t allow you to contact an interested party that missed the closing moments of the auction, even if your reserve isn’t met.

Hello Dale,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Our team is constantly striving to improve, and hearing directly from our users is the best way for us to identify areas we can grow.
We apologize that you were not satisfied with your auction result, and are very happy to hear that you were able to successfully sell your Suburban.
All of our auctions close between 10a and 3p, Monday through Friday. After running thousands of auctions, we have identified that this time period performs best and garners the highest auction results. Furthermore, we have found that many users who comment post-auction that they missed out or would have bid more are incredibly unlikely to actually follow through. These bidders chose not to bid higher during the auction; in our experience, they do not increase their bid after the auction ends.
Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
