Absolutely disgraceful do not hire a car with Easy Jet or directly with GoldCar in Fuerteventura. We waited in a two hour queue to then get a rude unhelpful assistant who tried to sell us additional insurance for a further €220. We explained we didn’t think we needed it but she said what we had meant we could only use ‘major roads’ and there may well be deductions on return of the car! We were so confused and unhappy with these threats we walked away. If she had just asked us for the credit card as a deposit as we expected there wouldn’t have been a problem. EasyJet will not take any responsibility or refund anything yet when you fill in the complaint form the drop downs include long queue, poor service at check in and unexpected charges so they know what is happening. It’s a scam!!

The worst customer care I have ever experienced. Do NOT hire a care with EasyJet. We could not land due to high winds so circled the airport eventually transferring to Gran Carnaria. By the time we landed it was 6.30pm and the car hire company, TurisPrime, had shut and gone home. No A/P. We had filled in the fast track booking so they had all our details and our money. Eventually arriving back at Lanzarote at 9.30pm, there was no one. All the other companies were there but not the EasyJet team. Packed up and gone home. Called EasyJet and they said that becaue I had not called them to tell them of the delay, it was my fault. I have spent the last week trying to explain to Mohamed, Adriana and Miriam, that phones dont work in a plane, but no, they cant seem to grasp that. They even told me I had to raise separate complaints to pre booking and post booking. What a farce. EasyJet partner with Car Trawler. Just avoid them and dont expect EasyJet to help.

I see another review had the same problem as us. Credit cards were not in the full name but initials and surname. The car hire company wouldn’t give us the car. Had to start the process from scratch which cost a lot more than the original. Have never had a credit card with my full name on it. This was at Turin airport

Booked a Fiat 500 to be picked up at Gatwick. Only to be told it wasn't available. But no replacement was either. I thought I was getting a replacement but it turned out to be an upgrade at a cost of £300' GB844231500 con 1170386485 Feel totally conned.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Website and documentation states they take AMEX credit card, upon arrival they told me machine was not set up for this and I had to pay with current account card (1000 Euro), and it is only a hold and will be back in account within 10 days. 12 days have passed and they have told me that it will actually be 30 days due to the card being a current account and not credit. They knew it was a current and told me 10 days, who in the right mind would hand over 1000 Euro of own money for 30 days? There were also 2 other clients having issues with this provider when I was collecting my car. Stay well away!

J'ai annulé par erreur ma location RENTACAR via easy jet car rental à J-3 et 1h après j'ai rappelé .. bin je vous raconte pas la suite.. vous l'imaginez !! tout impossible, tout à repayer .. donc evidemment j'ai changé de cremerie et PLUS JAMAIS location de voiture via Easyjet car rental ! Pitoyable

I opted to book car hire whilst I booked my flight from Edinburgh to Krakow. The company used was Flexi Car hire in Krakow. Upon arrival at the Flexi desk the staff pushed us to take out additional insurance, indicating we were not covered by them and if anything happened we would pay €2,500 excess. We also without being told had to pay £760 onto my credit card as a deposit. The staff also told us we had to return the car cleaned inside and out, otherwise we could lose our deposit. I've never had to clean a car before returning a hire car. The car given to us was the smallest in range and we struggled with our bags. We also struggled finding anywhere near the airport to wash the car. As we handed the car back, the service was still appalling and no thank you or anything. Just rude. I asked about the deposit and they said it can take 28 days before I may get it back. Very disappointed and will not use Easyjet car hire in future.

They prepopulated the form with arrival time at the car rental as the same time as the flight arrival. I thought it was odd. I wanted to double check the day before and easy jet were quoting arrival of the plane at the airport at 23:10 but the other separate company easy jet car rental they still had me down as wanting to pick up the car as 23:00. I got even more concerned when I find out that europcar car rental office closes at 23:00 I contacted easy jet car rental and they assured me it would be ok which I knew it would not be. I started a review all about the company and the insurance and what others thought on web sites. Turns out it is all an absolute con. I cancelled the car and forfeited around £100 knowing if I didn’t europcar if I arrived without them waiting I would still be hit by other charges as the insurance sold to me was utter rubbish and they would sell me more insurance. If I miss the time I would lose all my costs of around £300 as it would be deemed a no show. I actually arrived in the car rental terminal at 0:45 the following day as the easy jet flight was late so I was totally correct in the cancelation. There would have been no one at the office 1 hour 45 minutes after closing. I would have been rejected at europcar anyway as I read the unseen areas on the contract where you have to click on to show the detail and where they stated I was a Spanish resident and therefore was obliged to provide utility bill and bank statement hard copy postal only accepted. I do not have these and I am not a Spanish resident. They are liars. Deceitful and dishonest looking simply for the no show money. They think they are happy in Dublin office with these scams but I will proceed with this. Many other people have been cheated by easyjet car rental and I will follow this up with the UK financial conduct authority and financial ombudsman they have cheated too many people. It is too much of a coincidence similar stories and almost always with europcar. The latter have terrible reports also. 18/02/24 Just written to axa uk to explain their involvement with this as it is their insurance being mis-sold. I have also asked them to send the policy in English as all I have is a Spanish version. Informed them of it appearing like a total scam and why they seem to be ok at being involved in it. 19/02/24 Check out trust pilot ‘book cartrawler’ Over 70 reviews with an average of 1 out of 5 All the same scam on the axa insurance and then the car rental refusing to recognise it I have requested the document in English and I am still awaiting a copy Book cartrawler uses the same scam of making it really difficult for you to comply with their terms and the car rental is refused to you and the customer loses all their money. These people are crooks.
