I hired a car for skiing - three days hire. The company Eurocar said that there were two scratches on the door and that this counts as two separate incidents and so the excess payable is due twice, costing Euro2100. If I had crashed the car, then this would have been half the price. Easyjet pass the compliant to car trawler, based in Egypt where they do not seem to undertand insurance. Utterly bizarre. I am still fighting this.

Despite pre-booking and paying for insurance coverage, I was confronted with unexpected additional charges upon collecting the vehicle. This bait-and-switch tactic is both deceptive and infuriating. Upon arrival at the rental desk, I was informed that the insurance I had purchased through easyJet was inadequate, and that I would need to pay an extra fee for sufficient coverage. This unscrupulous practice left me feeling exploited and significantly increased the cost of my rental. Regrettably, my experience is not unique. Many customers have reported similar issues with easyJet Car Hire and their associated rental companies. For instance, one customer recounted being coerced into purchasing additional insurance upon arrival, despite having already paid for coverage, resulting in unexpected extra costs. I strongly advise against using easyJet Car Hire to avoid potential scams and financial loss. I did not take out the car hire, could not get a refund and then told my complaint was out of time.

Do not use. They subcontract to other companies so when things go wrong everyone tries to blame the other party and nobody responds to emails. Avoid go direct to hire car company. Have got a complaint in but will then be going to credit card company and ombudsman as out of pocket around £1000 and missed a day of our holiday

Do not use this service. After arriving to collect to be told we couldn’t collect it, paid 3 times the amount with another company as we had no choice, over 2 months later I still haven’t got my money back even though I have had emails and phone calls from people saying I will get it in 10 working days. Never known such a bad service.

I booked and paid in advance for a rental car via EasyJet’s website, to be picked up from Sixt at Bristol Airport. However, upon arrival, I was shocked to be told that the car I had hired was no longer available—apparently due to a supposed “one-hour tolerance” policy. This is completely unacceptable! I paid for the car, and it should have been reserved for me until at least the arrival of my flight. Instead, I was left with no choice but to pay extra for the only “available” vehicle at the Sixt counter. To make matters worse, customer service is refusing to refund the additional cost, despite this clearly being an issue on their end. This feels like nothing more than a scam to squeeze more money out of customers. I strongly advise others to be cautious when booking a car with EasyJet. Avoid this company!

I booked a car along with flights to and from Edinburgh and shortly after got an email asking me to check in on line for the car hire. I did this and was then told that they could not proceed with the rental as I was over 75 years of age. I later found that they had taken my credit card payment so requested a refund. Even though they did not have to supply a car and knew about this several days before the date I was due to collect it, they refused a refund pointing out that they list the age limits in their terms and conditions. Actually on page 7 of 9 pages of small print. Their attitude to customer service stinks.

Booked a car at Geneva Airport . We had an exceptional circumstance and did not get the car . Customer service is non existent . Will never use them again

I booked a car with EasyJet Car Rental to pick up at Aldergrove airport after a recent flight to Belfast and was charged £119.97 online prior to arriving at the airport. I was assured upon booking that this was the total fee and therefore was expecting to simply pick up the car upon arrival. This was not the case. I was informed by Europcar, the handler, that they were indeed aware of my booking but not of any monies paid - they said they receive only the booking details. I had to pay Europcar again for the vehicle hire. They informed me that they see this all the time and advised me to be prepared to be very insistent with EasyJet to claim a refund. I had to call their customer service department and have conversations 3 times and each time after talking to their agents ai got nowhere. I then eventually received an e-mail from EasyJet customer services saying they would not refund me as they seemed intent on shifting the blame to Europcar, so a time-old case of each one blaming the other. I encountered nothing but frustration and blame-shifting the whole way through. I would advise anyone reading this and all the other extremely negative reviews on here which are pretty much identical to mine, to avoid these thieves and liars (who know exactly what they are doing) at all costs.
