We were using CareLinx to find caregivers to help us take care of my wife's mother. At first it was great. After a while we had days where the caregivers would not show up or call last minute that they would not be there. When we called our CareLinx advisor/contact all she could say was she was sorry but unable to help us cover missed shifts at the last minute. We started with CareLinx in late January of 2015 and by May of 2015, my wife and I were spending more time caring for her mom than the staff from CareLinx. We could not keep missing work so we found another care provider. We moved to Comfort Keepers and the missing days/shifts problem was solved.

Too much confusion and inaccurate information regarding taxes and with holdings.

Need to note in file what patients need as a preferred language & send it to them all the time. When their nurse is not available. Make sure the nurse is always on time

Probably most of the caregivers on this site are good. However in my case, I already had a caregiver. She was with another agency that went out of business, so we went through Carelinx. But I didn't know that we are considered the employer, not Carelinx and that there was additional money we had to pay the federal government every quarter. So I couldn't figure out what the additional costs were for Carelinx. While the rep was nice, the process wasn't explained very well.

Poor follow thru

Nobody at Carelinx answers the phone or returns your calls. No flexibility with job role/duty. If you manage the caregiving for a client but have no hands on you are considered a caregiver. Much easier to work on my own! Also, When I work on my own I don't have to wait for a paycheck to be deposited.

It was not explained prior that my 93-year-old mother had to become an employer, complete with an EIN number and business license. It is difficult enough to own a business in California, let enough have a 93-year-old woman in poor health be responsible for all that goes with it. In addition, she would have needed to give access to her checking account in order for the accounting company CareLinx uses to withdraw quarterly taxes. We were not comfortable with any of this and wound up canceling the service.
