2nd bad experience with Cardinal
I have had a mortgage with Cardinal for several years. When the pandemic hit I received a letter from Cardinal stating how much they wanted to help their customers during these difficult times. They offered the forbearance program which suspends your mortgage. I suspended 3 months. I was told their loss mitigation department would be in touch with options for repayment. I NEVER heard from anyone. I called the loss mitigation dept several times and if I was lucky enough to talk to someone They offered no help. Eventually I received a call from an agent, Jennifer Salgado saying I was eligible for a loan modification with a lower interest rate. This was in June. I did all the paperwork and e-signed all the necessary documents. I was told everything looked good and I should close in July. And then I waited and no one contacted me. I finally called the Jennifer and she told me that another Agent, Dana, had been assigned and should have contacted me. Well that never happened and now we are in August. They misplaced my application. Finally Danna contacts me be email asking for documents that I had already sent. In September I paid the 3 month suspension and the forbearance was removed although no one at Cardinal could or would verify that. Dana kept asking me for the proof. I send her a copy of my mortgage statement showing it was paid but she insisted on a letter. I asked if she could contact that department and have them send her a copy. She said they don't talk to other departments. I asked her to call me which she never did. Next thing I know it is the end of October and still no closing. I contacted Jennifer and they wanted yet more documents. Now remember this is a remortgage. I have been paying my current mortgage all these years. After all these months of waiting and submitting document upon document. Jennifer tells me that Cardinal will not grant me the new loan. Currently I am paying $795 monthly 3/4 of this payment is interest and only 1/4 is applied to my principal. The new loan was $150 less with a lower interest which more of my payment would have gone to my principal. SO I can make the higher payment but I can't make the lower payment. WILL someone explain that to me??? Cardinal is greedy, their staff is incompetent and they certainly are not working for their customers. Do not use them. It is just too stressful. After reading all the negative review above, I am sure I will get a reply that they want to talk to me and apologize for such a horrible experience. I don't need anymore talk..... I need action from a company that is truly willing to help their customers. I really don't even want to give them ONE star. Oh yes, Merry Christmas......... Regards, Kathy
