Using Canto is like being upgraded to the "adult" table at family meals - more sophistication, much more pleasant, and everything just looks better. Our institution migrated from a proprietary, home-grown solution that made searching for assets a huge chore. We are super pleased with Canto and the added functionality they've rolled out in just the six months since we became customers.

Canto has helped our office streamline all of our photo and video assets into one safe location, accessible by many different levels of users. My team is able to upload assets for projects, and share with clients easily. Other users are able to self-serve for their photo/video needs by searching for specific tags and keywords. Facial recognition has been an incredibly useful addition to the software as well. Overall, Canto has solved the problems our team was facing, and has made our workflow more efficient.

Very good product but poor customer support. Did exactly what we needed and wasn't too bad to set up. However, beware that customer sales oversells what customer support implementation will do for you!

Saved hours of searching for content with the tags, category and custom fields. The integration from Google Drive was very fast and intuitive. It does take a while to upload content but can run while you are doing other things.

This asset management system was the best bang for our buck that we could find, and while it's customization is on point, the download and upload speeds are slow enough to warrant a warning to potential users.

PROS: It is very user-friendly. It's visual and easy to navigate. It has great search and filter features. You can send people directly to an asset without giving them access to everything. It also includes a portal, which you can brand and make public or private. Great training and support. CONS: You can’t upload a separate cover image for your album; you have to use one that is already in your library; it has to be an actual asset. This is difficult if your album of assets only contains font or color libraries, the thumbnails have no visual. Overall: Canto is a great product. I has lots of features and is reasonably priced compared to other DAMs. We use Canto to house all of our brand assets, collateral, graphics, videos, etc. We also have templates available on Canto, so stakeholders can create simple pieces on their own rather the disturbing the marketing team allowing us to focus on higher priorities.

We use Canto Photo Library and I am impresses by it' ease of use and ability to tag photos and add metadata. The only thing I would change is that people using the same upload link can see other peoples submissions. Other than that an excellent product.

The best feature about Canto is the ability of linking external websites like Dropbox. This made life a lot easier. Dropbox filtering and loading speeds are frustrating. Canto eliminates all that frustration! One thing I do not like about Canto is the navigation. My very first time attempting to Upload a Link to allow outsiders to share files to your Canto library. However, I had to dig around for it. It later occurred to me that you can find this feature in your settings option. I think establishing some sort of button (enable or disable) or "plus" feature where it allows you to customize your tree structure would be great! At least for me it would have been at first. Canto has helped us share content easier with internal or external users. This helps us save a lot of time. No more of emailing images to users after digging though dozens of files for one thing! What I would recommend to others considering Canto is to make sure you have organized and labeled all content before moving them over to Canto. This will also help you develop the habit of organizing files not only by folders but keywords, dates, tags, etc
