C2 is a s*** show when it comes to organization and scheduling. Had no clue until the last minute when my teen was going in. Saw little to no results after shelling out thousands of dollars. Total scam!

Please avoid this place! It is a scam business. I attended C2 Education in Germantown for several years and had a beyond disappointing experience. I attended for their PSAT, SAT, and college essay help, and unfortunately did not get much out of it, and I feel bad for my parents who wasted tens of thousands of dollars. The only good thing I have to say is that majority of the tutors themselves are very kind and are aware of C2's broken system. However, C2's business model is based on manipulation and guilt tripping parents and students to buy hundreds of tutoring hours and spend 6 hours a day at C2 for an unreasonably high price. The manager, Angela Kim, claims to be a certified college counselor but is actually just a deceptive saleswoman that gave me unrealistic and poor-quality college advice. They give middle schoolers SATs and when they score low relative to an 11th grader (simply because they haven't learned the concepts in school), they show this to naive parents as a justification of calling their child stupid and in desperate need of their tutoring services. They then shove a non-refundable contract in your face, expecting you to pay upfront costs comparable to the cost of a nice brand-new car. When students or parents are on the fence about buying so many hours during their post-diagnostic test sales pitch, they say stuff like "well if you actually wanted to work hard and be a good student you would come here and study" which is incredibly manipulative. They also call students "severely behind in math" for taking calculus their senior year of high school instead of freshman, sophomore, or junior year, which is absolutely untrue. They will downright try to tell you that your child will be unsuccessful without their tutoring services. They also will lie about your results on diagnostic tests. I took a diagnostic SAT at C2 and scored over 100 points lower than when I had just taken the real SAT recently. When I reviewed it later with the tutor, I noticed they had marked almost every answer wrong for the writing section. This was very confusing for me because I usually score near perfect on SAT writing. When I checked the answer key, I was very confident I had actually marked all the right answers. When I requested to see my bubble sheet they claimed to have discarded it. I conclude that they either had a broken scanner or did this on purpose because if diagnostic scores were too high they couldn't convince parents to sign up for their services. Attending C2 also did not help my SAT score at all, and I continuously scored the same over months despite regularly going there. However, as soon as I quit and switched to free online resources and $20 Amazon books I was able to get a 1500+ score with 800 on math with no problem. The C2 test prep books and diagnostic tests are nothing like the real tests, and every student and tutor knows it. The management claims "exact questions" from the C2 tests show up on the real test but that is not true at all. Regarding college essays, I had a very mixed experience. One tutor gave me good feedback and was careful not to change the main points and my personal voice from the essays. However, another one demanded full editing access to my original personal essay document and went ahead and deleted half of it without my consent simply because he couldn't relate to it. He also openly ridiculed my essay and mocked the experiences that I had talked about in it. Overall I would not have come here for essays either and got significantly better feedback from an English teacher at my school for all my essays. The environment in the center is also uncomfortable, with blinding fluorescent lights and they keep the thermostat at 58 degrees, which is not good for focusing. I urge you to send your child to a more affordable tutoring place that genuinely wants your child to grow and succeed, rather than here where they are trying to unethically fool you into spending more money (which actually all goes to corporate instead of the tutors). I promise you will get quicker and better results, your bank account will thank you, and your child will develop a passion for learning instead a dread for it. Do not give away your money to this organization!!!

A friend introduced me to C2, so I had a consultation with Esther. I signed up for a 240-hour contract. When I asked her to write ‘240 hours’ on the contract, she refused. She said she was providing 40 hours of service at her own discretion and would just inform the staff member in charge. She said it was a chain and that was the only way it could be done, so I assumed that was the case. We never received the whole 40 hours. About 8 months after enrolling at C2, my child’s grades were poor, so on 9 February 2026, I sent a message to the academy saying I wanted to speak to Esther. They cancelled the appointment twice. Once, they cancelled on the day itself. We had even taken time off work to wait for them. We finally managed to meet Esther on 17 March. We had to wait for over a month. During the consultation, Esther said she would like to meet the school counsellor as well, so we arranged an appointment with the counsellor. Throughout the session, Esther just stared at my child’s face and spent almost the entire time talking only about next term’s classes. We could tell Esther was not prepared for this meeting nor was she ready to answer any questions. We figured she had a month to prepare for the meeting, but it seemed like she did not prepare at all for the meeting and was just winging it. Sometimes Esther would say the same things over and over because she ran out of things to say. Just as we were about to ask a question, a staff member came in, saying there was another appointment, and kept giving us dirty looks from inside the consultation room. In the end, she switched tutors and claimed she hadn’t known my child’s grades had dropped. She just blamed the staff, saying she knew nothing because they hadn’t told her. She then simply stated that the staff member in charge of our child had gone on maternity leave on the very day of the consultation. She turned up without even having looked at the email we’d sent. She claimed she hadn’t received it, but when she showed us the inbox on her computer, our email was clearly visible. Her lie was exposed. She blamed the staff member for this too, insisting she wouldn’t have known if the staff member hadn’t told her. After claiming they needed time to prepare for the consultation, making us wait for over a month and cancelling the appointment twice, they eventually turned up for the consultation without even properly checking the email we’d sent. They introduced a new staff member, saying this person would be taking care of us from now on, and the consultation ended with the new staff member giving us a cold shoulder. Esther didn’t turn up on the day of the counselling appointment, which did not surprise us. In the end, we spent almost $15,000 to get no improvement in my daughter’s grades. Esther is lying, incompetent director for C2. Just pathetic.

Evil Company. Unhelpful and using unethical tactics to overcharge customers. I improved to a 1570 SAT completely without C2 while my sister used it and had a horrible experience.

They tried to scam my mom outta 21k. PLEASE AVOID THIS scummy "tutoring center." They only focus on getting money and make the diagnostic test difficult on purpose to trap you and your parents. They also make you sign a waiver that restricts you from getting a refund. I will not be going there again. Worst experience ever. kuttay.

I didn’t see any real improvement or value for the money I paid. I expected professional support and structure, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. My daughter ended up scoring better on ACT score which they were discouraging her to take. I wouldn’t recommend this service based on my experience.
