We are sorry that you are not seeing the results that you had hoped for yet, Christy.! We know it can be frustrating to start HRT and expect it to relieve symptoms right away, and then it doesn't. The reality is that it takes around 3 months for most women to acclimate and adjust to the influx of hormones. We sent your Follow Up to you yesterday, and see that you completed it. Thank you! We also see that you have been communicating with our Patient Care team regarding your treatment plan. They assisted you until your Winona doctor can review your Follow Up information. Once your Winona doctor is able to gauge your progress, then adjustments can be made to fine tune your doses and get you better results. We don't want to give you too much hormone too quickly, (as that will cause other issues), but we also don't want to give you too little. Your doctor has been notified that you have completed your Follow Up and he should respond to you within 48 hours, if not sooner. Our platform operates asynchronously and messages are not returned in real time, but he will answer! We appreciate your patience in the interim, but please continue to communicate with our Patient Care Team if you have an immediate need! We are here to support you!

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your treatment plan, Dray. We see that you just started your treatment plan in December. It often takes around 3 months for the body to adjust and respond to the influx of hormones, so it is possible that you are not a therapeutic level. We don't want to give you too much hormone to fast, and we also don't want to give you too little either. Just as it takes time for you body to slowly stop producing its own hormones, it also takes time for your body to acclimate to having them again. We ask that patients complete a Follow Up around the 10 week mark to gauge responsiveness and progress. We see that you just completed it, so we are hopeful that your Winona doctor can adjust your dosage to get the relief you need! Winona specializes in personalized hormone replacement therapy, and we can understand how confusing it can be to receive different advice from a different health care professional. However, each patient receives a unique dose and application method tailored to their specific symptoms, lifestyle, and history. Personalized medications are developed in our compounding pharmacies and require a doctor’s prescription to create. These medications are produced per patient, unlike medications sold over-the-counter that are mass-produced using standard formulas. Your pharmacist may not be aware of how compounded medications or HRT is prescribed. We want you to be happy with your treatment plan and wish for you to gain complete relief. We truly appreciate you highlighting how important provider access is to sustainable, equitable women’s healthcare. While our model is telehealth-based and communication with our doctors takes place through secure messaging rather than phone calls, the intention remains the same; thoughtful, individualized care with the ability to ask questions and receive ongoing support. For many women, this format creates access and consistency that may not otherwise be available. That said, we also recognize that telehealth isn’t the right fit for everyone. Some patients may prefer or require in-person visits or verbal consultations, and that’s completely valid. Our goal is never to simply prescribe, but to provide safe, responsive, and patient-centered care within the model we operate in. We appreciate the conversation around this, it’s an important one.

When certain symptoms are reported, our providers are obligated to recommend appropriate in-person evaluation to ensure patient safety. Those recommendations are made out of caution and responsibility, not to alarm or minimize your concerns. That said, we understand that how guidance is communicated can greatly impact how it’s received. Hormone therapy can sometimes come with adjustments, and feeling heard and supported during that process is incredibly important. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and would welcome the opportunity to review your experience more closely if you’re open to it.

We're sorry to hear that you have not been experiencing relief from your symptoms yet. Many women start to feel relief within the first few weeks of treatment, but it can take up to 90 days to feel the full effects of HRT.
