We are very up front about our pricing on our website here: https://bywinona.com/shop As a business, we try to remain competitive in our market, but we ultimately do try to be affordable to patients as well. There is also no extra cost for shipping, or for communication with your Winona doctor. We even provide further resources on our website for our patients and other women to support the menopause transition, like our Medical Journal, Help Center, recipes, workout routines, the Winona Women's Group on Facebook, and more! You can find those here: https://bywinona.com/resources We do not currently work with insurance companies, but we do accept HSA/FSA funds to pay for your HRT. Many of our patients have also found some success with submitting the HSA receipt to their insurance company and getting reimbursement, although we cannot guarantee this. We are happy to hear that you are able to find similar products through your own pharmacy for some cost savings! Thank you for sharing your experience, your frustration is completely understandable. We want to clarify that Winona uses USPS for shipping in order to keep delivery free for our patients. Once your package ships, we send an email with tracking information so you can monitor its journey. As a telehealth platform, we don’t send additional tracking updates after that point, as delivery times are determined by USPS and are out of our control once the package is in their hands. That said, your experience matters to us, and we're sorry this caused such an inconvenience. We're sorry to hear about your frustration and timeline for relief, Joyce. As each woman is different, there will be a varying pace of results. Some women will start to see noticeable changes right away, but others may not see any for a few weeks. The average time it takes the body to adjust to the influx of hormones is around 3 months. We ask women to complete a Follow Up around the 10 week mark so their progress can be gauged and medication adjustments can be made, if needed. Women are notoriously hard on themselves because of unrealistic societal standards about a she should look or act. Our hope is that no woman will ever have to view the menopause transition as something to dread or to be afraid of. Your struggles are our struggles, and we are here for you! We appreciate you sharing your experience, Maria, and are sorry to hear that you had some painful bleeding. We are a bit confused though, as your account is still active and you have been communicating with your Winona doctor recently. Unfortunately, the menopause transition can bring about changes in a woman's cycle that can be difficult to deal with. Starting HRT will also sometimes uncover issues, such as polyps or growths, that you are not aware of and those may cause some bleeding. An in person evaluation is always encouraged under those circumstances. We are sorry that your OB/GYN made you feel guilty or irresponsible for using Winona. That is one of the biggest reasons why Winona was founded - to take women's health seriously and to address the debilitating symptoms that mainstream doctors ignore or patronize. All of our doctors are board-certified and specialize in HRT and menopause care. They are acutely aware of the special challenges and concerns this group of women deal with. We're sorry to learn that your hopes were dashed by annoying cycle changes, Sarah! For a small percentage of women, starting HRT can trigger changes in your "normal" cycle. This can mean skipping cycles, having extra cycles, or having one again after not having one for an extended time period. We understand the change can be upsetting and frustrating because no woman wants to deal with extra hassle! Luckily, after the first few months, things return to normal as your body adjusts. Sometimes changing the dose, as your Winona doctor suggested, can be beneficial. That is one of the perks of using customized HRT! We do caution women that there can be side effects in the beginning stages of treatment, but most are manageable and resolve on their own, similar to PMS symptoms. Patients may message their Winona doctor at any time via their private portal for any questions or concerns. We don't see that you messaged your provider with any concerns before you completed your follow up, but they are still happy to assist you adjust your dose if you wish to try again!
