The side effects that you experienced are not commonly associated with the menopause transition, but can be attributed to your other underlying health issues. Your Winona doctor suggested you stop treatment only to see if your side effects would resolve. Although not life threatening, we understand the side effects, such as bloating, swelling, and others, can be very annoying. They generally resolve on their own as the body adjusts to the influx of estrogen. We're sorry to hear the treatment didn't meet your expectations and that you decided to cancel. We are so sorry that your experience was not what you had hoped. Our Winona doctors typically respond within 48 hours, but this can depend on their work load. Many of our amazing doctors also assist patients in local clinics and hospitals! We understand the frustration when the doctor's response time is not as quick as you would expect, but they are typically unable to respond immediately. We're sorry to hear about your experience, Erin, and that it didn't meet your expectations! We offer many different types of HRT and they each described on our website for patients to look over and review. Patients are given the opportunity to list their preferred choice and are directed to leave their questions, comments, or concerns on the onboarding questionnaire for the doctor to review prior to being prescribed any medications. This is to ensure that any information that you feel is pertinent is not overlooked. Exercise routines are not typically a contributing factor to the HRT application method because they all work well. You indicated that you wished to use the patch on your intake form and that is what was prescribed. The patch is a wonderful HRT method to use, and it can be worn while bathing, showering, swimming, or exercising. If there is any hesitancy regarding if the patch is right for you, we do offer other alternative forms of treatment. It is incumbent upon the patient to let the doctor know about any contributing lifestyle factors that are outside of the norm so the patient can be guided to an alternative treatment. You indicated to our Patient Services team that you did not open or even try the patches once you received them and that you were fearful that they would not be able to be worn due to your occupation and exercise habits. We have many women use them in circumstances similar to yours! Even though you have not tried the patches to see if they are effective for you, you opted to cancel your account. A partial refund was given to you as well, and we did message your Winona doctor on your behalf about your concerns. It is never our intent to upset our patients, and your Winona doctor is happy to respond to your questions and assure you that the patch can be effective. As these are prescription medications, we cannot exchange them or dispense them to another patient. We appreciate your understanding and wish you the best!

Oh no, Vanessa! We fear that you may have missed the message from your Winona doctor that was sent on June 22nd! Your doctor DID reply to your complaint of ongoing symptoms the same day you completed the follow up and asked you several more questions that he is waiting on an answer for! You may review and respond to his questions here: https://app.bywinona.com/message HRT is not an exact science and some treatment plans do need to be adjusted after 3 months to get better relief. However, your doctor does need your responses in order to know how to adjust your HRT. A member of our Patient Care Team has emailed you with direction on how to reply to your Winona doctor!
