I think Buxfer is dead. Used it for 10 years and loved it. But now they take weeks (or months) to respond to support, and when they do I think they lie. Two major issues, 1. They havent adopted Open Banking, yet its been widely availabe in Australia for 3 years, when asked about it they blame their provider, which is Yodlee, who also adopted open banking years ago. Othe finapps use Yodlee, and they provide OB connectors already 2. When downloading transactions the balance updates, but no transactions appear until one more day. when I reported it, they take so long to answer its no longer relavant, so they say it looks fine to them. i had enough, my subcriptions term is up, changing to another finapp.

Last month I have decided to move away from buxfer for good. Out of the blue the system changes historic balances and untags large numbers of entries, so that I cannot classify expenses. The customer support replies once and then does nothing. My current account suddenly showed a balance of £44000 !!! (which it wasn't) Customer service reply: What did you do! So, no. No more.

I wasn't using their service anymore, but forgot to cancel my membership , which is absolutely my fault, so it was renewed automatically. I went on their site to cancel, five days after the renewal. I thought I could just cancel the membership, and get refunded for the remainder of the billing cycle. At that time it was stated in their own refund policy that "if you don't want our service we don't want your money". But when going to the section where you can cancel the membership in your profile, what I found was that if I cancel I am forced to keep the membership for the whole year, and basically all I'm canceling, is the auto renewal! I then wrote to customer support to ask them to cancel my membership and refund me because I'm not using their services anymore. They just linked me a 2 line refund policy in a FAQ section (this was a much more vague and simplified version of the policy I have found). When I confronted support (which likely was an AI bot), with the policy (elsewhere on their site) I've found, all I got was "Thanks for laying that out so clearly. Unfortunately the refund policy you found is outdated. We'll be changing it to avoid further confusion". Cool...so the policy of not taking the money of people who don't want to use your service is outdated. Anti consumer greedy company, just like the rest of the lot in the tech industry right now. I have cancelled my membership and had my account deleted, for what its worth.

i paid for one year and the service worked only for 2 months. I didn't get my money back.. VERY VERY BAD SOLUTION and VERY LOW CUSTOMER SUPPORT EXPERIENCE. Shame

After months of waiting I've cancelled my subscription because they won't fix the sync issue. They have all the data in the system, they know what is correct because they show the correct state when reporting the bug yet still don't fix it. This app is definitely dead and not being maintained.

Sync issue. lousy support. very very basic in functionality. but still haven't found a better alternative

I paid for a Buxfer subscription expecting access to premium features. However, even after payment, my account still shows as a Free plan, and I cannot access the features I paid for. I have tried reaching out to Buxfer support multiple times, but I’ve received no response whatsoever. This lack of customer support is unacceptable, especially for a paid product. I feel scammed and frustrated, Buxfer took my money but didn’t deliver the promised service. If you’re considering Buxfer, please be aware of this issue. I cannot recommend this app based on my experience.

App is somewhat ok however the fact that, if you cancel your automatic subscription renewal, it cancels your paid advantages immediately and not at the end of the period you paid for is extremely scammy in 2025 and designed to have people forgot about it/be late to cancel it This practice should be illegal imo, you should be able to cancel any time and all advantages your paid for should stay until the end of the time you paid for. Like any respectable app is doing. Would not recommend.
