This company is a scam. They have changed their name multiple times. At one point it was Butcher's Box and then it changed to Dash and this is because of the scam they are running. When you place one order, they will automatically sign you up for a subscription and not allow you to cancel. They claim that an account is "automatically" created even though there was never a password set up. 2 weeks after they shipped the first box, they shipped a second box and charged my card without authorization. I had to cancel the credit card altogether to prevent them from charging me more because they have zero customer service. There was no way to reach anybody at the company Dash. Even after I canceled the card, they harassed me by sending me multiple automatic emails stating their intentions to charge me anyways and send it to collections. This company preys on middle-aged and old persons. Do not order from this company. You are better off going to your local Whole Foods, Sprouts, or pet shop and purchasing the food from their refrigerated section. Alternatively, if you need to use a subscription based model, Farmer's Dog is a much better option with better customer service. There should be a class action lawsuit brought against Dash, but that's probably why they will continue to keep changing their name to continue the operation of scamming people.

Food made my dog sick for days, I dont think its very good quality, just looks like frozen leftovers from a factory

I unfortunately had a very sad experience with this company. Still attempting to get to the bottom of it and get them to take responsibility for ongoing mistakes and taking my money. I placed a trial order and was charged for it. When it never shipped, I went online and canceled it and got a cancellation confirmation email. Next day I get charged $238 and I’m told that my order has been shipped. In the next few days, the trial comes in. Several days later, a full order comes in which I refuse. All this while attempting to communicate with customer service and explaining to them that they should not be shipping to me and they need to refund. A very long story of 34 email messages, in the end I get around around and I’m told that there is another account and even though the email address does not match, somehow something else matches, and that puts me responsible for that bill. Now they have blocked both my email addresses and no longer accept communication. They do not reply to social media communication either but continue sending the marketing emails. I have never been stolen from like this and then held accountable without zero records.

I had a beef box ordered as my dog has chicken allergies I received a box full of chicken dog food. When I contacted them they said they would make it right they just wanted a picture so I sent a picture that was five days ago and I have heard nothing since I have sent 10 emails and not gotten any response or any resolution

Yet again, my order has not shipped on time. Currently it is over 2.5 weeks past my order date, and the site still says it hasnt been processed. Of course, my card was charged in full, right on time. I got an email last weekend saying they were crediting me $20 (as if that was even close to recompense) but here we are, on friday, and still nothing has changed. In most orders, multiple packages are not properly sealed/vacuumed, but my most recent contained 5 such packs. Their customer service and response time is terrible, as well. Avoid at all costs

In another shipment, I found a jagged bone in the beef mix. Their customer service is slow and dismissive. And their cancelation button does not work — which is unlawful under Virginia law (§ 59.1-207.46). Here’s the full story: I originally purchased ButcherBox for my 6-month-old, 10-lb miniature Poodle puppy (Tony Stark). The first shipment of beef mix contained a jagged bone larger than a quarter. The company’s response was appalling: “Since our meals are made with fresh meat, on rare occasions a small bone fragment may appear…” As if a jagged bone in food meant for a puppy is acceptable. It is dangerous and reckless. Because their cancelation button does not work (in violation of Virginia law requiring an easy online option), I couldn’t stop another box from shipping. On 9/17, I fed the chicken mix from that box only to my two Standard Poodles, Bruce Wayne and JoolZ. Both were diagnosed with food poisoning at the emergency vet. The puppy, who did not eat the food, remained well. I incurred vet bills, endured four sleepless nights letting them outside every 45 minutes, and then threw out the rest of the food — nearly $200 in the trash — but worth it to protect my dogs. I contacted the company on September 9th. They didn’t provide a final response until September 22nd after 9:00 pm — nearly two weeks later and only after multiple follow-ups, while another box had already shipped. Their so-called resolution was outrageous and unconscionable. They reimbursed only the first box under their “satisfaction guarantee” (not even because of the jagged bone) and refused to reimburse the second box that directly caused food poisoning and emergency vet expenses. I am a Registered Dietitian with SafeServ certification. I know food safety. I’ve been preparing fresh food for my dogs since 2008, following proper storage and thawing practices. This was not mishandling — this was ButcherBox’s unsafe food and deceptive support. Their food made my dogs sick. Their excuses were egregious. Their cancellation process is unlawful. No responsible company should operate this way — and no pet owner should ever trust ButcherBox with their animals’ health.
