METALLIC CISTERNS ARE NOT FIT FOR PUROSE - THEY DO NOT LIKE MOISTURE
We bought, at great expense, Burlington bathroom toilets, sinks and taps for our property renovation. I started to notice one of the chrome cisterns was pitting some time ago and certainly not what I expected a cistern should do when installed in a bathroom. I contacted Burlington Bathrooms and never got a response. I wondered if I’d got a defective cistern? I have two of them and the other one is fine as it’s not in a bathroom but a downstairs toilet with very little humidity. Having read other reviews I see this is quite a common theme! Our defective cistern is ugly and spoils the bathroom. We are no doubt going to have to change it and lose the chrome cistern as it’s evidently not fit for purpose. It’s pitted losing the chrome finish and oozes clear jelly substances! I’ve just given it a good scrub with an abrasive cleaner as I felt I’d absolutely nothing to lose. It’s still ugly and needs replacing but not as unsightly as the oozing gel was! DO NOT BUY A METALLIC CISTERN! LOOKS FANTASTIC BUT NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE AND AN EXPENSIVE MISTAKE 😡 As for Burlington, I won’t touch them with a barge pole going forward. A bad experience and a costly one at that. Not impressed with the lack of response or the product performance. It’s expensive tat. I’d have happily posted pictures if I could.
