I love Bookman's
I love Bookman's. It has an incredible variety and such a great charm to it. I think in general the prices are pretty good too. I have a coworker who says she only goes to Barnes and Noble because it's basically the same price but she can get books new; I don't agree at all. I've spent more money in Barnes and Noble and gotten a third of the books; even the new ones are cheaper. And that's with plenty of new ones. I also love the trade in option. Yes, it's true you don't get a lot of money or store credit, but that's unfortunately just business. I also like that they donate any books they can't sell for you so you don't have to go to the trouble of donating them yourself. My ONE complaint: in general, the prices are good, but I feel that the used books are more expensive than they need to be. I absolutely understand the prices on new books, but I can go to Goodwill and get used books for less than $3. In Bookman's, the only books I can get for that price are the slim poetry books, which I do enjoy, but it feels insane that to get a used book with more than 100 pages I have to pay at least $8. It IS still cheaper than new so I am happy for that. And I suppose they do have very high quality standards for used books, so maybe it does make sense to charge more, but it does leave me unsatisfied enough to knock a single star off. Maybe a half star if that was allowed.
