Guy had never heard of Adobe and did not know how to look it up on the Internet 🛜🥺 Guy said he was Manager and he had to me that this a 📚 Book store? I had shopped at this location the most Lake Montezuma or Camp Verde? I cannot Confirm or deny he was high or possibly drunk, but it sure sounded like it 🥽🦧🚷 I will never shop at the Flagstaff Location again 👎😲

Now a seller of defaced books, along with regular ones.
A formerly regular customer, I bought a book at the regular price. A few weeks later when I first opened it to start reading, I found black ink writing in the margins, underlining, asterisks, and many other defacements. I tried to return the book, but was told that "many people don't mind writing in their books."
Once, this was a friendly and authentic bookstore which never would have sold such trash. If, in those days, a book like this had gotten past them, they would have apologised and provided a refund. But I suppose all good things must end.

I love Bookman's
I love Bookman's. It has an incredible variety and such a great charm to it. I think in general the prices are pretty good too. I have a coworker who says she only goes to Barnes and Noble because it's basically the same price but she can get books new; I don't agree at all. I've spent more money in Barnes and Noble and gotten a third of the books; even the new ones are cheaper. And that's with plenty of new ones. I also love the trade in option. Yes, it's true you don't get a lot of money or store credit, but that's unfortunately just business. I also like that they donate any books they can't sell for you so you don't have to go to the trouble of donating them yourself. My ONE complaint: in general, the prices are good, but I feel that the used books are more expensive than they need to be. I absolutely understand the prices on new books, but I can go to Goodwill and get used books for less than $3. In Bookman's, the only books I can get for that price are the slim poetry books, which I do enjoy, but it feels insane that to get a used book with more than 100 pages I have to pay at least $8. It IS still cheaper than new so I am happy for that. And I suppose they do have very high quality standards for used books, so maybe it does make sense to charge more, but it does leave me unsatisfied enough to knock a single star off. Maybe a half star if that was allowed.

Shame on Bookmans
I have lived near my local Bookmans here in Phoenix over 10 years. This is a store that used to be one of my favorites, but over the years, unfortunately, I have watched it lose more and more of its charm and customer service and most of all it's great value. The prices on items in the store have gone up, of course as times hoes by, but the trade value has hit an all time low. I understand with all the competition out there, these things happen. When you lower the price so very much on what you pay people for items, I would think it would reflect in the resale price. This is not the case. What finally did it for me was an incident where I took several boxes in and Bookmands picked out maybe 10 items and I asked if I could leave my "cart load" of boxes of items remaining while I went to get my son at work. The employee said that was not a problem and I even put the cart with the several boxes to the side and off I went to get my son. When I returned, em0loyee went home, smdidnt tell any one, and Bookmans had already unloaded the cart in the back to be processed. There was no way to pick out all my items. They said "sorry". I called and the manager apologized and told me to pick up an envelope at the front seat on my next visit. I did, and in it was a gift certificate for $25. I do not want to sound ungrateful, but there were boxes of jewelry and knik knacks, and murano glass vases and wall decor etc. I was upset but figured I would get over it. Until next time I went into the store and picked up one of my items that was taken and saw the $34. price tag on it. ONE item! No longer am I a customer at Bookmans, it seems just several things, the increase in their prices, the decrease in their trade value, the decrease in customer service, to mention a few. Its sad to see places get successful and become complacent even cocky in their glory. Just look, their are similar places popping up, and I will forever be the thrift store junkie, especially when there is a charity involved!
