I ordered a book for my daughter for college. The book was shipped and then sent back to the facilty for a bad address. I was then told they would reship the book. After a week I never received the book and I spoke with them again to be told by another employee that the book was never received back at the facilty and it was never shipped. I demanded my money back as now I was being lied to and they said they could not refund my money until the book was sent back to their facility by the postal service. I have spoken with them since and they claim to still have not gotten the book back yet. This has been over a month. They are dishonest and now that I have read several other reviews from people with the same complaint, I have validated the fact that this is common occurance for them. If you used a CC to order - file a dispute with the credit card company right away as speaking with them gets you nowhere.

I got a textbook for a Public Health course (Essential Case Studies in Public Health) which was being sold for $50+ and got it from BookHolders for $0.05 ($7.04 with two-day shipping). I honestly hesitated and relented for a long time before deciding to take the risk and placing the order especially after reading the reviews. The form of payment was smooth and the delivery took 2 business days as promised. I don't know if I was just lucky, but I do know that my experience with this company was overall positive. Anyway, I don't know if I'll order from them again given the poor reviews. I realize I didn't check the reviews extensively enough and found a review page for BookHolders on Indeed. I would honestly check it out and thinking it over I wouldn't purchase from this company again because of how they persistently scam their customers and poorly treat their employees. - L12 ôwô

The worst online service I’ve ever received. This company is the s*** of the s***. I’ve ordered a book on 5 September with fast delivery (2-3 days). It arrived one month later and their justification was “we understood wrong the address”. They didn’t give me a discount back for this their mistake or nothing. Are you fu***** kidding me? Really I hope it will bankrupt. Companies like these shouldn’t stay open. They robbers. NEVER BUY FROM THEM, NEVER.

They cancel my order and no notice, I have to contact their CS to know it.

Purchase via AMAZON. This is a text book that is missing pages. However, it's not until the 6th chapter that this was noticed and it's beyond the vendor return period. I contact the seller for a resolution and the response was they would help me sell it back. It being a college level text and depended on immediately, I don't have time to try and sell it back. Unfortunely this will be the last text book I will be able to buy using AMAZON (regardless of the seller) as it is not reliable. They did offer 15% off after placing a claim through AMAZON... but this does help with the current weeks assignment!

I ordered a textbook by ISBN. When it came in, the CD case (which is bound inside the textbook) had been opened, and the CD was missing. I called the company and spoke with everyone from the first person who answers the phone, on up to the company manager. Each person along the way had the same answer: they claimed that because the listing for the book did not say "w/ CD" that I couldn't realistically expect the CD to be in there. Of course, by definition, the ISBN that I ordered refers to a book/CD package--not just the book. Saying that they didn't specifically say "w/ CD" and therefore can't expect it is like saying it didn't say "w/ page 235" and therefore a book missing that page is the customer's problem. They told me I could pay to send the book back (having already paid $6.99 to have it shipped to me) and when they received it they would credit only the purchase price of the book. It would cost at least another $6.99 to ship it back. The error was theirs, not mine, but they wanted me to pay for their mistake--and still wouldn't fix the problem. Beware of ordering from this company, as they misrepresent the products they sell and will not rectify their mistakes. They tried to shirk their responsibility to me by claiming that they're a used bookstore and therefore "couldn't possibly know what the books contained." I will never order from this company again. Ever. (I have however contacted my credit card company; they are stopping the charge.)
