This is not what they say when they sweetened your ear to buying it. They are really complicated to get a hold of and when you do they just have something else to say. They do NOT return your deposit even if you leave the room how you got it. We called several times to get our deposit back and they kept arguing they had return it when we told them we had not received anything and our bank could send them the evidence. They only said they're nothing we can do. Do not book with this people.

We have had a difficult relationship with Bluegreen Vacations. We have been trying to cancel our timeshares with them for a while now. They were willing to help with the ones we have fully paid for, but it has been like pulling teeth to get them to help with the last one that isn’t paid off. They don’t seem to want to be helpful, as we did have to jump through hoops before they gave us the option to pay to exit the other two contracts. This was frustrating, but it was at least a way out. All that said, Bluegreen poses as a reputable business that wants to give its owners the world. It just happens to be much smaller than they tell you. Be careful when buying into Bluegreen and make sure it's something you want to have for generations.

Absolutely Appalling and Extortionate Practices (1/5 Stars) My wife and I have been trying to cancel our Bluegreen Vacations timeshare for well over a year now, and our experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. We were initially told that our contracts are binding for life and that our only recourse to get rid of it was to sell it ourselves. The situation escalated this year with what we can only describe as extortion. In 2024, we were quoted over $35,000 to be released from the contract. This year, the number has somehow jumped to a staggering $60,000 for a property we cannot and do not use. Bluegreen Vacations is preying on people and extorting massive sums of money to release them from contracts they can no longer afford or use. Their practices are unethical, and they need to be shut down. Save your money and your sanity.

From the moment we walked in, we felt highly pressured to buy. We were sold on a grand idea that turned out to be all lies! We feel completely misled—the reality of the timeshare is nothing like what we were told. The issues only compounded after the purchase. When we inquired about selling, the timeshare company (TS) had previously said they'd buy it back, but later claimed that was not an option. To make things worse, they charged us late fees and even locked us out of the timeshare system until we got the Maintenance Fees (MFs) current. Speaking of MFs, they keep going up, now almost double what they started at. We were never told that the maintenance fees would increase so drastically. We also felt intense pressure that we HAD to upgrade just to be able to use the timeshare effectively. Stay far away from this company. This has been a terrible, misleading, and expensive experience.

I seriously didn't think getting my timeshare cancelled would take so long. I thought it would be a lot quicker to get this taken care of. The Bluegreen people sold me a package that was supposedly no longer available; therefore, I would not have any benefits with using it, and so they used that to persuade me to buy a bigger package. The first package I paid off before my first welcoming meeting to " show me" how to use my package, and instead told me that it would not be feasible to use alone, and that if I purchased an additional package would make either better. I would think that should warrant reimbursement for the first package. I hate calling these people because they continue trying to talk me into something I do not want. They are thieves of the worst kind. Painting a picture and telling lies about their program so people will give them their hard-earned money or their retirement. This has been a nightmare, and I am so very tired of it all!

I’ve been trying for about a year now to cancel my Bluegreen timeshare, even though the mortgage has been paid off in full. Bluegreen keeps telling me there are no real options, and the only paths they offer involve paying thousands more just to walk away from something I don’t even use anymore. The communication has been disappointing. I’ve reached out multiple times asking for help or at least some clear direction, but the responses are slow, inconsistent, and never actually address the problem. What we were promised when we purchased—flexibility, easy family trips, and manageable fees—turned out to be the complete opposite. Instead, this ownership has been nothing but stress. The hidden costs, rising maintenance fees, and lack of support have made it feel impossible to get out. Bluegreen makes the process incredibly difficult, and their unwillingness to work with owners who are trying in good faith to exit is frustrating and unfair.

I am beyond frustrated with Bluegreen. Since purchasing my timeshare in October 2023, I’ve only managed one vacation, and it was nothing like what was promised. The resort I booked was changed at check-in, amenities were missing, and the experience felt misleading from the start. Every interaction with their staff including Yayonna Caldwell, Germaine, Brentney Davis, and others has been exhausting. Calls go unanswered, emails are ignored, and I’ve been repeatedly misgendered despite correcting them multiple times. I’ve been given contradictory and irresponsible advice about cancellation, and no one seems accountable for the false promises made during the sales process. The upselling, confusing paperwork, and lack of follow-through have caused unnecessary stress and financial strain. I feel trapped in a system designed to confuse and pressure customers rather than help them. I am now looking for ways to cancel my ownership and hope others can avoid the same nightmare.

SCAM ALERT - If you're a Choice Hotel Privileges member you may be called by them to get points to hear out a promo from Bluegreen Vacations. Bluegreen lied to me about the promotion in order to get my money. When I went to book my promo stay I paid for, I uncovered that I was lied to about how it works and I can't actually use it- I specifically sought clarity on a point of who I can travel with, they assured me it was fine not to take to husband (he can't travel) and turns out that's not at all true- they just told me what I wanted to hear to get my sale. Their lies are in a recorded conversation. When I tried to escalate the issue to resolve it, I was blamed for booking late (I booked within the timeframe and that had nothing to do with anything) and they told me they would be refusing to give me my money back. There are a lot more details on the scam, lies, lack of integrity, etc but this is a summary. Also very disappointed in Choice Hotels for being part of selling their members out to a scam.. it's not like I sought this out on my own, Choice Hotels called me and roped me in.
