I did not find booking a Blue Green Vacation easy. The dates I chose were not available initially. I picked another time months down the road (still could not get the dates I wanted). I unfortunately sprained my ankle the day before leaving and am hit with their penalty fee. I would rather use Marriot or Hilton on my own terms than be locked into inflexibility and the zero-empathy fee structure of this vacation club. I am not planning to reschedule and will forfeit any "benefits" I have paid for to sever ties.

Just Say NO to BLUEGREEN VACATIONS!
My wife and I are seeking to end our timeshare ownership with Bluegreen Vacation Club. Booking a stay has been extremely difficult, and our experience has been substantially different from what we were promised when we purchased. Our current health conditions also prevent us from traveling, leaving us unable to use the timeshare.
Meanwhile, our maintenance fees have tripled over the past five years, creating a significant financial burden. Most of our efforts to resolve these concerns have taken place by phone and email. Unfortunately, we have not felt that our concerns were taken seriously or that the representatives were genuinely interested in finding a workable solution.
We once enjoyed visiting the resort in Peoria, Arizona. However, each visit involved what we experienced as mandatory Owner Reviews, where sales representatives persistently pressured us to upgrade to Gold or Platinum status. They showcased the Presidential Suites and told us that upgrading would provide access to those accommodations. After Hilton acquired Bluegreen, we were also told that we would have access to Hilton’s booking network and associated benefits. In practice, we have not received the access or benefits we were led to expect, including access to Hilton properties.
When I contacted the Responsible Exit Team, one of their representative told us that canceling our ownership would require an $8,000 payment, plus an additional 18 months of maintenance fees totaling approximately $5,000. That is roughly $13,000 simply to surrender a timeshare we have already paid for in full. We consider this requirement unreasonable, particularly given our health limitations and financial circumstances. When I explained our situation, I did not feel that those hardships received meaningful consideration.
Other proposed options included reselling the timeshare or transferring ownership to friends or family. We do not consider either option workable: we have little confidence in finding a buyer, and we refuse to pass this financial burden on to people we care about.
Because of the ongoing financial strain, we have stopped paying our annual maintenance fees. Our goal is to end our ownership completely and obtain a full refund based on the representations that led us to purchase and the benefits we believe were not delivered.
We are asking Bluegreen to address our concerns fairly and provide a reasonable resolution. Based on our experience, we strongly encourage anyone considering a Bluegreen timeshare to carefully evaluate the booking restrictions, ongoing costs, promised benefits, and exit requirements before making a commitment.

Bluegreen Vacations Deception
Bluegreen Vacations is is completely misleading. It all started with free vacation offers that ended
up being long, high-pressure sales pitches meant to wear us down. The people who pushed these
misleading tactics were Richard Adrian (license number 156958), Michael Long (license number
185409), Stephanie Barton (license number 142503), and Melanie Boutwell. On a trip to Gatlinburg,
they put us in a gross, water-damaged room that was nothing like the nice resort experience we were
promised and paid for. Their whole business is built on misrepresentation. For example, they outright
lied in a meeting and said we could share our points with our son, but later they blocked him and
said it doesn't work like that. They also force us into owner reviews, which are just high-pressure
sales pitches to buy more upgrades. The timeshare is pretty much useless anyway because there is
never any room available. We even found out they double-dip by renting our rooms to non-members
while still charging us maintenance fees. Things have changed for us now. We are both unemployed
and caring full time for family members with dementia. We need to cancel, but they refuse to let us
out of the contract. They won't work with us and are holding our credit hostage while demanding a
crazy $7,200 exit fee. They are a misleading company that never gave us what they promised. We
really regret getting sucked into this situation and just need to get out. We can't afford the exit fee
and can't afford to keep this ownership. We sincerely ask for help holding Bluegreen Vacations
accountable so we can finally cut all ties with them.

Terrible.
Blue Green vacation sucks. My wife and I paid for a package back on presidents day, and got a 'special deal'. We upgraded a stay in a Log Cabin in the Smoky Mountain in July, but circumstances came up, and we had to cancel. The company agent told me that she would look to find me the next best alternative, but claimed that air bnb or Campground of America is not in their network. Why not???? You said you could get the next best thing. I then called today to schedule a hotel stay if we absolutely couldn't get one of the upgraded stays that I paid for. The agent then told me that my credit score wasn't high enough to qualify for the program, so she informed me that my program was cancelled (even though I had already paid)! In this economy, you're not going to find people with a high credit score, but we do have the money to pay for the package, so why should the credit score be an issue? Furthermore, we received no notification in writing that our policy had been cancelled, so I feel like this is a cheap trick to discriminate against consumers.
I'm a hard working American, and unless I'm applying for a loan, there is no reason this company has any business judging me by my credit score. You people have no business making sales pitches and promises that you can't deliver to your customers! If I see you at any location, I'm going to boycott anyone trying to go over to your booth because you screw people!

0 out of 5 stars
0 out of 5 stars. Absolutely terrible. Put us up in Creekstone Inn, and when we discovered the rooms were filled with mold, they refused to relocate us to a different hotel or care about health concerns.
During the time share meeting, lots of promises were made that if we decided against buying into their lies, we'd be free to go. Instead, they refused to respect our "No", and we had to practically pry their hands off of us so we could leave. This was followed by the salesman pouting like a child not getting their favorite candy.
Truly terrible experience. No concern for people's health or comfort.

Warning to all who are considering…
Warning to all who are considering buying a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations. Please take
my experience as a cautionary tale. What was presented as an easy, beneficial way to travel
quickly turned into an unsustainable financial nightmare.
●
Hidden annual maintenance fees: Was told the only extra costs would be hotel room
taxes, but was later hit with $1,400 in recurring annual maintenance fees, which only go
up by a large amount every year.
●
Ignored buy-back inquiries: Reached out 6 to 7 months ago to start a buy-back process,
but my requests have gone completely unanswered. The sales team told us such a
program exists, but no one has responded to our inquiry.
●
Zero flexibility during major life changes: No support or options even when facing costly
medical care for ongoing kidney issues or personal life events like divorce.
●
Lack of transparency upfront: Friendly sales pitch during purchase, followed by zero
professionalism or help when issues arise.
Save yourself the stress, headache, and financial burden. Think twice before getting locked into this agreement.

Still waiting on the written termination they promised us
Bluegreen told me directly that my contract was terminated and that official paperwork confirming it would be sent to me, but I still haven’t received a single thing in writing. This whole mess started with a promotional stay that turned into a high-pressure sales pitch. They talked me into upgrading with false promises about travel benefits and bonus points that never materialized. The maintenance fees just kept going up while the points went unused or expired. Then, while I was actively disputing these billing issues and trying to get answers, they turned my account over to Pinnacle Recovery. All I want is out. If my contract was actually terminated like they said, where is the paperwork?

Huge mistake! Please don’t fall for it!
I really regret buying a timeshare with Bluegreen. I went to a presentation back in May 2022 right after going through a tough divorce, and I had my 1 year-old daughter with me. I was exhausted and just wanted to go home, but they kept sending different people over to my table, lowering the price and the points until I finally just said yes so we could leave. They promised me it would be super easy to book vacations, but it's the exact opposite. I barely have enough points to actually stay anywhere, and finding available places is incredibly hard. I've only been able to use it once. Since I realized it doesn't work for me and contacted Bluegreen to cancel it, they have just been giving me the runaround. Their reps keep emailing me to set up phone appointments, and then they ghost me and never call when they're supposed to. I’ve even reported them to the Business Consumer Alliance as well to bring awareness. It feels like they are just playing games and wasting my time thinking I'll just give up. Do yourself a favor, save your money, and stay far away from Bluegreen.
