Managing Expectations
We were in the market for an SBA loan and were advised to go through block equity to protect us from the open market and streamline the process. They were very professional and knowledgeable, and they did locate 2 banks that would review our application. (I have no insight into how difficult this is.) However, we still got bombarded with hundreds of emails and phone calls from other lenders for MONTHS... and counting!! Also, the two banks who did review our loan asked us to provide all of the same information we had already provided. If I had it to do over again, I would try going directly on the open market for an SBA loan first.

Thank you for sharing your experience and the thoughtful feedback. We do want to add some important context. After completing the underwriting process and coordinating directly with lenders, we were able to secure an SBA approval for $350,000. Our team handled the full packaging and lender communication for that approval. Ultimately, you elected not to move forward with the loan, which we fully respect. Regarding outreach from other lenders, while we work to limit exposure, once financials are reviewed by SBA lenders some third-party outreach can unfortunately occur, even when precautions are taken. As for repeated document requests, this is a standard part of SBA underwriting, as each bank has its own internal requirements, even when information has already been submitted. We appreciate your feedback and wish you continued success moving forward.
