Average overall and it seems that's what they strive for.
BigCommerce is a company that kind of seems happy to do an average job most of the time. They neither want to excel and be great, nor suck too bad. Support and improvements are at a glacier pace, but the price is reasonable. For example, something like "partially shipped" orders is not a main bleeping selection. It's AS IMPORTANT as orders "awaiting shipment" or "awaiting fulfillment", but try getting someone at BC to listen. I'm disappointed to see BC allowing (& promoting) the proliferation of apps designed to charge not based on realistic service costs, but on the number of sales I have, which is basically them dipping into my pocket for no reason. Apps like Rewind for example, which are just backup really have no business charging what they do, but BC promotes them like it's the best option, when it clearly isn't. Customers of BC just need to use their heads and not listen to BC BS marketing attempts. BC has finally figured out their programming staff pretty much sucks on several levels so many basic functions you would expect in your software (like backups!!??) are actually handled by 3rd party apps. WHY? I would switch to a different platform, but surprisingly at this time there is no quality alternative, which is interesting since BC is fairly average overall. I can't really understand why a better alternative hasn't surfaced, but I guess it is a pretty big undertaking which requires "good" programmers and money. Overall, BC will allow you to run a business, but you need to have a head on your shoulders.
