disappointed
I needed to downsize from magento and compared shopify, bigcommerce, wix and squarespace and decided to go with bigcommerce because it met all my must haves and the others did not. I am a small shop and shopify nickles and dimes you for many of the app add ons with monthly fees and the end cost with all the features I needed was much higher. Wix and squarespace didn't offer the flexibility I needed in building product options. Most importantly was the customer service which is so great at bigcommerce. On Chat it's almost immediate and they have usually folks who know what they are talking about. The cons are the inability to take over customer carts in real time and if you customize the templates the updates are ardeous. I've also noticed some issues with SEO but I am not sure if that's my fault or the way google reads bigcommerce.

For the most part user friendly. Wish there were more options for reports to review historical sales for comparision. Maybe what products have sold the most.

I think Big Commerce is a wonderful medium to host my business. I have been using it now for over 6 years. I am very happy with the help I receive when I lodge a ticket and there is a lot of information available through the BigComemrce University Help links. However, it is mainly suited to the retail environment for clothes I think. I sell books and I would like more flexibility with the type of coupons and discounts I can offer, especially when some of my clients are schools, libraries as well as the general public. On the whole I am very happy.

Big Commerce is fine for most applications. I find the app choice is limited but growing. Shopify is such a monster that most apps that are available there have not made their way to Big Commerce.

Had a great tech advisor. It took a few tries, but he never gave up. Thanks

Good overall as it is a nice platform. Challenge is you still need tech savvy staff for all these platforms because you need to buy plug ins to do functions needed for a business. Same goes for Shopify which we use too. They work about the same

we are happy with Big Commerce but as a small eCommerce users we still require some of the features only offered to Enterprise but are unable to afford these. Also changes to the product details means we need to fully set up all the scripting for these. In the past this was done as part of the set up and we could cut and paste details.
