The missing star is not from the lack…
The missing star is not from the lack of product quality. I think the quality of products is great. It’s more for the set up of the program. I don’t mind paying $99 for an annual membership due, but the monthly $100 spending limit doesn’t go very far. Many of the products, or at least the ones that interest me, are between $60-125. So basically you only get 1-2 products per month for the membership due ($99/12 months), plus the product cost, plus the almost $9 in shipping. If you buy all very high end brands at full retail price, sure it’s a bargain. But if for most of us you buy mid level brands and often wait for sales, it starts to not feel as the amazing deal they claim. For example, they claim full retail price for one of their lip stick type products is $30 when sold by other brands. Never in my life have I paid $30 for a lipstick type product. I get that very very high end luxury brands may charge this, but I doubt most Americans would pay for this. So right there, 1 lip product and a 1/3 of your spending limit is gone, now to find another item under $60. Or wait a whole month to pool your spending funds. Then you pay almost $9 in shipping, and not for 2 day shipping mind you. Come on Beauty pie, there are WAY cheaper shipping options out there, ask any other subscription box company. Still make us pay the shipping fine, but I know it’s not always $9! If the monthly spending limit was not capped so low and the shipping was more competitive, it would feel like a much different experience. Not sure I will renew when my annual membership ends.
