Spoiled the Legend of Fred Bear for this Michigan family
Purchased a new Royale RTH compound bow from an online retailer. This bow is a smaller, lightweight bow, it's not labeled as a youth bow by the retailer or the maker. After twelve days of target practice the string came off the cams. Since it was less than twelve days before bow season, we contacted a local outfitter who wanted $120 to restring the bow. Then we contacted the retailer who doesn't stand behind the products they sell, told us to contact the manufacturer. We did contact Bear Archery about the warranty. They offered to restring the bow after following their specific instructions for returning it to them, or else we could have the local outfitter order a string from them. Nothing was said about shipping, repair or parts covered under warranty. We are from Michigan. Fred Bear is a true legend, especially in this state. His museum started in Michigan and was here for many years until he moved it to Florida a couple of years before he died. We thought the products made and sold by Bear Archery, using the Fred Bear name, would be of legendary quality and also under warranty. I'm very sad and disappointed that the company that uses the Fred Bear name and legend for manufacturing hunting gear doesn't stand behind the quality of the product nor care about the safety or satisfaction of the customers.
