Hair started shedding at an unprecedented rate within a month. Adding oil or grease seemed like it was clogging my pores and hard to wash out, leaving build up and causing scalp flakes and problems. Disgusting marks on my pillowcases. Took 6 months to get my hair back to healthy clean scalp with good growth rate (based on my bangs length).

Mia, You are contacting the wrong company. We have no order under your name and this appears to be done purposeful to slander. We are Batana Babe and have NO order under the name Mia Koenig. Please move this review to wherever you purchased whatever it is your purchased!

Once I read all of the reviews and this…EDIT
EDIT: I WAS GOING TO ORDER! Changed my mind after reading the reviews (in laymans terms). Obviously. So no I did not order and wont be. And I read Atleast 3 Reviews where you’re threatening customers with lawsuits. Clearly right there in the Lowest star Reviews. Do Better.
Once I read all of the reviews and this company responding to so many people threatening them with “defamation” lawsuits… If a customer feels like they received bad customer service and didn’t appreciate your product or said something you didn’t like, you threaten to sue them? lol ,yea umm.. NOPE. Completely Ridiculous! Low Class behavior. Gross.

Hello - First and foremost we have no order from you nor any idea what you are referring to. This is a completely irrelevant and threatening review to us. We have been in business for over 5 years and stand by our product and company.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I am a repeat customer, but NEVER AGAIN. I placed an order, and shortly after learned that I have to move. I gave them an address, belonging to my friend. I requested to put both of our names on the package. USPS rejected sending the package, because they don't like the addressee on the package. The package was sent back, and clearly lost by USPS. When I inquired about the situation; they were rude, and said I gave a wrong address. I didn't, and USPS made it clear as to the issue. I bet they didn't put both names on the package. They clearly didn't look at the tracking, that says "Wrong addressee". It's not their fault that USPS has had the return package for over 20 days; it's ignoring me, and the rudeness that is an issue. I will order my oil from ETSY, instead. If you have problems, Batana Babe doesn't care. They already have your money.
Edit:
The response is classic gaslighting. I never ordered the product multiple times. I also asked for help twice, and was ignored the second time. If I could post pictures of emails, and tracking; I most definitely would. Like I said, it's not their fault that USPS messed up; it's the IGNORED EMAIL and refusal to help. If she can respond to this; she could have responded to my email.

Hello Jade, We have been in business for over 5 years and have followed the same protocol. We have also been more than accomodating for your error which happens. We even said when it comes back to us so we can issue a refund/reshipment. And it is almost back to us as per the tracking and we have been waiting for that - but now blackmailing us with a review is not something we or ANY business should for. Putting a business down after they are trying to help you and with the product that you ordered multiple times is not ok.

Received a rude email for reporting bad product
When I opened my order, it was multicolored with what looked like dry areas with liquid on top. I mixed everything together with my finger and noticed chunks that would not smooth out. I reached out to batana babe to let them know and sent pictures. Received a rude email stating because they are certified authentic that it means its a good product. Its not. My pictures show the texture is all wrong. I sent these pictures to them so they could see it themselves. I cant even use it because it won't incorporate together. Terrible customer service and satisfaction. If they do have a certificate of authenticity, it was paid for.

Tessa,
First and foremost this is a complete lie. Let’s begin where your lies and misconception stem from.
1. Real 100% batana oil is made from extraction. Not a green paste like that made in China. You have seen fake ads and tried to compare our product to the fake garbage seen there. That is not us nor will it ever be
2. You wanted to refund an open product which is against our policy. And started threatening us and blackmailing us with a review. Nope not happening . I stand by my product and my company.
3. I also showed you import records and authenticity certifications - which you now say is bought ? So my company name , business ID and everything on the paper is bought ? Ridiculous
4. We will be filing a claim against you for defamation. I stand by everything we sell and looking at your profile reviews - you have a habit of threatening companies for a refund.

Delay in receiving products
I placed order dec 28 I received an email on 12/30 stating they were just seeing my email apologizing for the delay . The next email i received they are waiting for batch to arrive from Honduras. It is currently in FDA clearance at Customs. It should be arriving this week ( I am hoping in the next day or two). Once I receive it, I will be packing them ASAP to get them shipped this week. Again , I sincerely apologize for the delay ! Didn't receive products
until January 12. I email customer service 2 times I mention that since I patiently waited for these products longer than I expected, I thought you might have considered offering me a courtesy discount. As of 1/15 I still haven't gotten a reply. Therefore, i will not support this business again!

Hello Debbie,
We are so sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, we were at the hands of Honduras FDA Customs and it is unfortunate that you are giving us a review because of the delay from them. Every order of ours goes through customs as we import only from Honduras.

Hello Tanya,
We stand by our customers and reviews. Have you ever ordered from us? If not - I encourage you to do so rather than commenting hateful comments on our business page that we take pride in. Your comment has absolutely no prior experience with us and a completely subjective and irrelevant comment.

Buyer Beware Do NOT TRUST
This product I received from this company is not authentic Batana oil.
The oil I received does not match the known characteristics of real, unrefined cold pressed Batana in color, texture, or scent. Authentic cold pressed Batana is amber to brown with a thick, buttery consistency. This COLD PRESSED product arrived pale, thin, and inconsistent with genuine COLD PRESSED Batana.
After requesting a refund, I submitted the product for GC MS laboratory testing. The lab results confirmed that the chemical profile does not match Elaeis oleifera, the Honduran palm that produces true Batana oil. The analysis showed compounds that are inconsistent with authentic Batana.
The seller’s own website description contradicts the product they shipped. Their page states that cold pressed Batana retains its natural carotenoids, which give the oil its signature amber hue. However, the product I received did not display any amber or golden coloration at all. They also claim cold pressed Batana has no smell and is yellow, which is scientifically inaccurate. If carotenoids and natural plant compounds are present as they claim the oil would show warm amber tones and carry a mild earthy scent. The lack of both indicates refining, dilution, or substitution, not authentic Batana.
I have attached comparison photos showing real unrefined cold pressed Batana oil versus what I received.
These companies paperwork and websites do not prove authenticity, especially as more companies outsource production and quality declines. Consumers deserve transparency and accurate labeling.
I’m posting this so buyers are fully informed.
I stand by this review and have documentation to support every statement.
Response from Batana Oil - Made in HondurasDec 12, 2025
Hello Mayasa,
I completely disagree with your statements and responded to your email. You purchased the COLD pressed Batana. Your first email to me was stating that it did not have the smell and look of the regular Batana and when I pointed out that is because you purchased the cold pressed batana. I also pointed to you on our product page with the picture of the cold pressed batana which is yellow in color, and even states that it has no smell etc. This was all there before you clicked purchase. Cold pressed Batana does not have a smell and goes through cold pressed extraction which has a yellow color as shown on our pictures and even written on our product description.
Mayasa, it sounds like you clearly wished to purchase the original batana oil which is what you were looking for and accidentally purchased the cold pressed. I pointed that out to you and offered you a discount even.
The statements in your review contain several inaccuracies about Batana oil chemistry, extraction methods, and product characteristics that need clarification.
1. Color and Consistency
Authentic Batana oil can range in color from pale gold to deep amber depending on harvest season, heat exposure during processing, and fatty-acid oxidation over time. It is not accurate to claim that “real” Batana is always amber or brown. Cold-pressed, unheated Batana frequently appears lighter—sometimes pale yellow or light gold—because it avoids the heat that darkens the oil. Thicker, darker “buttery” Batana typically results from heated traditional processing, not cold pressing.
2. Aroma
Cold-pressed Batana also carries a very mild, nearly neutral scent. The earthy aroma commonly associated with Batana develops when the fruit is heated for hours during traditional extraction. This is why the scent profile differs between cold-pressed and heat-extracted versions.
3. Claims Regarding Carotenoids
The presence of carotenoids does not guarantee a dark amber color. Carotenoid concentration varies based on fruit maturity, soil conditions, and processing temperatures. Low-heat extraction preserves carotenoids while still producing a lighter oil. Color alone cannot determine authenticity.
4. GC–MS Testing Interpretation
I have asked you to provide me the GC-MS testing that you stated in this review you have before posting this review. I have not received a response. I also have COA and import records of all our products from Honduras. We are fully transparent about our sourcing, extraction method, and testing, and we provide documentation upon request.
While we respect your right to share your experience, your conclusions do not align with the established chemistry of cold-pressed Batana oil. We stand behind the authenticity of our product and encourage customers to verify information using scientific, extraction-specific standards rather than relying on expectations shaped by traditionally heated varieties.

Dissatisfied customer
The reason for the 1 star rating is i havent received my order. I ordered it on September 29 and the tracking says its coming from China not Honduras and it just shipped today. This is ridiculous, if I had known this i wouldn't have placed my order. Very Very disappointed and i am asking for a refund. Let's see how that goes. And very bad customer service they never reply back

Joyce,
First and foremost you are contacting the wrong company. You ordered from Kuri Nuka ! This is Batana Babe. We ship from Philadelphia where our headquarters is. We have no order under your name - please immediately move this review to them as this type of ridiculous review on our page is harmful when it's about a completely different business. And if this is purposeful we will be pursing a defamation claim.
