It'd be nice if there was a way that the baselang calendar automatically generated a meeting an agenda in google calendar.
Some professors aren't very friendly and seem disinterested and would rather practice their English.

Meh...Not So Great
Let me start off by saying that I have been a member of this platform for several years on and off. In the beginning it was great. I had the BEST teacher and I took classes with her several hours a week...sometimes for 2 hours at a time. She then disappeared for a little but and then returned only to finally quit.
My issues now are as follows: For starters, it is impossible to communicate with the teachers via chat as they do not receive notifications. Also, they are not trained to know where quizzes are for the electives. Sometimes they spend 10-15 minutes trying to locate a quiz and it just wastes your time and money. On top of that, the administration sometimes hides the chat function so when you are messaging them if they don't feel like talking to you anymore the chat button goes away. There are zero teachers from Spain which makes me extremely upset. Also, the Wi-Fi where the teachers are based is usually painfully slow. Sometimes I wait 3 minutes for their screens to share or they get frozen, and yes, I know for a fact that it is their Wi-Fi and not mine.
Despite these issues, I have remained on the platform for now as it is fairly cheap. They did increase their monthly unlimited fee from $149-179 which is so excessively greedy (an increase of $5-10 is one thing, but $30??). I get that it is unlimited, but the average person cannot spend hours and hours in classes as most people are working as well. They definitely lost my business as a result of that because if it was still $149 per month, I would be paying them a lot more than the $9 a month I pay now.
My final gripe is that it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to stay with the same teacher consistently. Every single time I find a teacher I like they either quit, leave for "administrative tasks" (this happened 3 times to me), or they are fully booked. Even if you favorite them and get advanced booking options, it is still EXTREMELY difficult. So I started to take classes with whoever I could, whenever I could. The problem with this is that every time I get someone new they spend 5-10 minutes chatting with me (what's your name, how do you pronounce it, where are you from, what do you do for a living etc., etc.) before we get to work. So in the end, I accomplish way less than I wanted to in the class. I understand that if it's the first time they meet you it is good to have some introductory conversation, but since I can barely get the same instructor twice, I am spending every class saying the same thing for the first 10 minutes regardless of the fact that I leave a note of what I want to cover in class.

Massive dropoff in the service
I have been a member for 2 years recently gave notice. Originally very pleased with the school, enjoyed the program (I'm very slow at language learning and it has really helped) and some great teachers. A number of my favourite teachers left, the quality of many of the remaining teachers has dropped off and just booking classes has become much harder. Booking favourite teachers -which you can do 7 days in advance - has become almost impossible in some cases and the best of the remaining teachers - bookable 5 days in advance - have long been snapped up. This is not helped because of tech issues they have with their booking issues that they seem to not give a sh*t about. You literally need to sit in front of your screen at the hour all classes are released and you will see classes populate and disappear before you eyes. This suggests to me that there are people using automatic booking software (supposedly not allowed and supposedly the site is protected against them). The function that supposedly lets you tap to reserve a booking and the 90 seconds to confirm doesn't work (again they don't give a sh*t, just "show me a video of it happening") you will click to reserve then get a message to say "already booked by another student" 2 seconds later when you click to confirm. They should at least start a system whereby one person can only book 1 hour with a teacher in say the 1st 24 hours of the slots becoming available. So, some great teachers (fewer than there were), very poor service.

Four weeks in and very impressed
After four weeks of Baselang, I am very satisfied with how things are going. Hands down, this has been the most productive time I have spent trying to learn Spanish. The large number of tutors has meant that I have been able to book lessons almost whenever I wanted. I have booked lessons only five minutes before starting, which is allowing me to schedule more Spanish lessons than any other platform or app allowed.
Most tutors have been great, although individual approaches vary. When working on grammar lessons, the tutor is able to readily see where I am at with the curriculum. Even though my Spanish is fairly limited, I have enjoyed conversational lessons with super engaging tutors. The program is not cheap, but at my current level of use is cheaper than any alternative when considered per lesson.
Pros: unlimited lessons, many great tutors, very flexible scheduling, sensible curriculum, associated flashcard app is a useful tool to aid memorising new vocabulary.
Cons: cost (but I believe worth it if you have enough time to take advantage), there may be room for improvement with some of the curriculum materials.
Based on my experience to date, I wish I'd bailed on other platforms and resources months ago. There is no comparison.
