Very buggy and bad upgrade. I've been using the app since version 6 and after the Golden Gate upgrade, it seems to have become more worse. The support is also not responsive even after sending four messages detailing the issues. This will be my last subscription with them and gladly find better options that work seamlessly with the Mac.

I've used Bartender since version 5. There's always been big problems with every version upgrade but the current version 7 is atrocious, abysmal, awful. It's supposed to have been written for macOS Golden Gate, but it just doesn't work - the list of flaws and issues is longer than I can be bothered listing here. Three emails to support have gone unacknowledged over the course of a week. Shame, it was a great product when it worked. Happily, there's so many toolbar managers out there for Mac so plenty to choose a replacement from.

Our production is currently at a standstill as we can't print labels due to BarTender 11.8 crashing when trying to modify a database connection. We pay for support, but this issue was reported 3 days ago, and other than acknowledgement that the issue has been replicated at Seagull, we are no further with it. Very frustrating and now seriously considering having to purchase something else so we can print labels and get production moving again.

I have worked with using BarTender (all the way from 10.1 through 2022) as an Enterprise solution at my company for several version and iterations. Over the years, I have (been forced) to use BarTender support, with very little overall satisfaction with the results. One positive thing I can say about their support team, after a few rounds of back and forth with tech support, they will help you unlock your printing license issues. However, that being said, unfortunately, I have gotten very little useful information about any of the issues I have presented to Seagull Tech Support a timely manner.

I purchased a license for nearly $700 under the impression that it was a lifetime license. Unfortunately, that turned out to be misleading. Unless you pay extra for technical support, the software becomes unusable when issues arise—even if those issues are clearly not the user’s fault. In my case, I used the same license key on the same network, and it simply stopped working. I don’t need ongoing customer service, I just expect the software to function as promised. Last time I encountered this issue, someone from support helped me because it was clearly a problem on their end. But now, without support included, there's no way to fix it unless I pay again. This feels like a forced upsell tactic—basic functionality shouldn’t be held hostage behind a support contract. It’s a relatively simple software, and not having access to minimal support or troubleshooting without paying annually is extremely disappointing. I strongly advise others to be cautious before buying. What you think is a one-time purchase can turn into a recurring expense, just to keep your software working.

Garbage support. Software crashes all the time. Licensing gets messed up all the time. Stay away from this product.

Lackluster support. We would give this software a miss. and are looking for a new product. This is the second service request we have engaged in. The attitude and the response to service is terrible. Service contract or not. Have been using the product since 2021. The software works well. It is their licensing of printers that causes the issue. We have one printer and one license. We added a new document printer, not a label printer. The next person who sent a print job accidentally sent it to the document printer and the Bartender software locked up for 7 days. When we tried emailing support for instructions to reset back to the correct printer, we received a reply but no resolution. 5-days later we cannot print labels. We have lost over $1000 in sales and have angry customers. Date of experience: April 25th, 2024

Absolutely useless support Have been using the product since 2021, and it's usually very good. I paid for a renewal of our support contract a couple of weeks back, but the service has not been renewed. I raised a ticket with support to try and resolve, and they refuse to assist because I don't have valid support contract. Ridiculous. In case anyone at the company cares, Support request: 462526.
