We’re sorry for the confusion and understand your frustration. The issue you encountered is related specifically to Amazon Brand Registry requirements. Sellers enrolled in Brand Registry agree to Amazon’s policy requiring barcode numbers obtained directly from GS1, including the ability to provide GS1 ownership documentation. Because of this policy, third-party barcode sellers cannot provide GS1 ownership certificates. We do make this information available in our “Works for Amazon” Guarantee, our Terms of Service, and our FAQ section so customers understand the limitations associated with Brand Registry accounts before purchasing. Our barcode numbers are valid and work properly when used in accordance with Amazon’s policies. However, using them in situations where Amazon specifically requires GS1-issued ownership documentation will unfortunately create issues, and there is no workaround for that requirement.
