Of all the credit card companies that I have held accounts with, this one has to have the worst customer service. Extremely long wait times, lots of gatekeepers, and no interest in doing what they can to keep a customer happy. I've had good experiences with Chase and other options. Barclaycard is awful. Go elsewhere.

This company is rip-off and very incompetent and don't have knowledge of their work I wanted to make a balance transfer from another card to pay this one off because of their high fees instead they took the money for the transferer fee out and now they are charging me a fee because of the worker didn't speak good English her mistake I'm so done with all these fees they charge

I had a charge at a clothing company declined. Entered again, decline again. I went to their site, logged in, and asked why my purchase was being denied. We got a phone call within minutes from Barclay and assured them we were making a legitimate purchase. We thought the matter was settled, even though no explanation was made for declining. Then I get their email response to my online question. They put a hold on my account. Their response to my question: Why? was a canned explanation of their security policies, even though there was never a security issue. All further attempts to communicate with Barclay, produced the same canned response. My response will be to close the credit card account and a Barclays savings account. This is a company that has nothing but contempt for their customers.

Even after years of reports, Barclay Card Services failed to secure customers' online security by implementing 2 factors authentication and allowing '+' aliases in their emails. Please avoid.

They have flagged my card for suspicious transactions several times when I use the card, then I have to call them, being placed on hold for an hour and still not reaching anyone. How do you call security at a bank and not reach anyone? Is this a bank or being run out of someone's basement? Had to enter my card number, last four of my social number then transferred to a person, only to be asked for the information again, then my name, then they wanted to send me a one time password - I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and was told it will take 15 days for one to call be back as that is their policy. I told them I want to cancel the card, and was again told well we have to send you a one time password or you have to wait 15 days to talk to a manager then you can cancel your account. When I insisted, all of a sudden a manager could get on the phone and cancel the account. Shame on American Airlines for partnering with such a poor excuse of a company.

Filed a dispute with a merchant, sent Barclays all the proof of the issue. They initially credited my account but then back charged me because I didn’t return the merchandise (I was trying to get the merchant to cover the return shipping since their product was faulty) but I ended up paying more money out of my pocket and after I sent them proof that I returned everything they said they can’t help me further because they don’t feel the merchant was at fault. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? They have a 30 day money back guarantee which I was within, their contacts were damaging my eyes (irritated, blurred vision and extreme sensitivity to light even after removing them) and I returned the items as instructed, yet now they are saying they refuse to assist any further. The merchant claims they already refunded me but Barclays put the charges through again, the merchant doesn’t understand this and claims they already put the refunds through and there are no funds left on the orders to return. All Barclays has to do is reopen the claims and put the refunds through. PayPal is caught in the middle- they’re saying call Barclays, they’re holding the money. Barclays says call PayPal, they haven’t sent the money to Barclays; so I got them on a 3-way call and guess what happened?? The Barclays rep CONNIE hung up and ran with her tail between her legs!!!! What kind of customer service is that??? Your credit card company is supposed to have your back and this company does not so after 10+ years of being a loyal client I’m closing my account.
