Did sqe 1 course after doing a pgdl in England and wales law at a university. Overall I liked it but a few of the lecturers were so boring and not very engaging. The exam itself had sections that I turned out to be I’ll prepared for. However, I passed the exam on the first try, and it had a 44% pass rate when I took it. I liked the multiple choice practice and the way it gives you a broad overview. It doesn’t go as in depth as you probably want to study at some point but, the exam is so tough, so it makes sense that it gives you enough info to pass. I definitely would recommend doing a law degree at least either a pgdl or llb before preping for the sqe1.

Overall structure of SQE2 course is good, but lacks essential section on FLK revision. This element has to be onboarded in the general timeline for the candidates as it will really make difference at the exam.

The course is effective in getting you to pass the exam but there are some questions during the exam That will not have been covered by the teaching material.

It was great. My only criticism is that the way Barbri update their content isn't very user friendly (including how there is no update to some of the MCQs during the course, meaning a limited amount was based on outdated law). I did however pass with 71 on FLK1 and 74 on FKL2, which was only about 5/10 points lower than my Barbri marks towards the end of the course. I also really liked the tutoring system.

Got me across the finish line. Got me prepared with the lectures I needed and pretty good practice questions. Essays for Virginia were good, and appreciated the use of old essays, although I still used a supplemental course specific for Va essays. Mbe questions were good although they were different than the ones I got on test day (not sure why this was). Overall a good experience.

No Prepaid Return Shipping for Books The lesson plan is good and the lecturers are generally helpful. The physical books are not included. They require a money down deposit that is reimbursed when the books are returned. Return shipping for the books is paid for by the customer, not by BARBRI. The lack of a prepaid return label makes it expensive and inconvenient to return the books. Seems like the shipping could have been built into the cost of the books. Many students have their bar preparation materials covered by their employer. That is one reason bar preparation companies have guaranteed income (in addition to ordinary law school classes failing to prepare students for the bar exam). It would be much easier to get employers to justify the various costs of bar preparation if they were all included in one payment.
