The content of the course is good but for the money, I would prefer more one to one and group live sessions. I would also like to have versions of the books on kindle as I spend a lot of time commuting with no signal. Same with the lectures, would be good to have a mobile app to download lectures to watch without requiring an internet connection. Think it’s a bit expensive for what it offers and lacking the personal touch and doesn’t feel like you are part of a cohort. Barbri is not registered an educational institution on Linkedin therefore cannot add this course to your education, rather you have to add it to your experience. Would also be nice to include library passes in certain cities as part of the course and to provide a student email address as we are technically enrolled in further education.

Overall your program was good however

There are only so many ways to present the material. Some people prefer flow charts, mnemonics, whatever. My principal complaint concerns the lecturers. Some of them have no business being part of a program I paid almost 3K. The good: civ pro, contracts, torts, community property, OK: corps, agency/partnership The awful: Con law, crim law/crim pro, wills, trusts, evidence. I did like the "micro" essays embedded in some of the lectures. You should expand on those. The MBE materials were fine. Everybody complained about the Feb. administration; it didn't matter if they used Adaptibar, Uworld, or other.

Barbri helped me practice essays, stay on schedule, and review substantive material. BUT, it did not prepare me for the multiple choice portions. While there are practice multiple choice questions, none are written like the actual exams. This makes it difficult to understand the tone and writing style of the actual exam and affected my ability to perform well (I had to take the bar again because of my low multiple choice scores - all my essays had high pass scores). ALSO, Barbri does not emphasize the multiple choice portions in California because the exam used to be 2 days of essays and 1 day of multiple choice. Now, CA has one day of each, so the multiple choice affects your score much more. Barbri has not adjusted to this change. Go with Adaptibar for multiple choice and even for video review prep. The questions are all from past exams and give real insight on where to study more. The videos are also much more engaging, precise, and broken into more digestible, study-friendly chunks. If I had to do it again, I would go per subject: Adaptibar videos first, 50 Adaptibar Qs, then Barbri videos, and 2 Barbri essays, repeat.

I think that there is a lot missing from Barbri. I did most of the barbri program and passed on my first try. But I 100 percent believe that either adaptibar or uworld should be included in all of the program options. To be frank the adaptibar MBE questions were s*** and I really tried to stay away from them and only use the quesitons that I knew were from past exams.

I liked the customized study schedule that adjusted according to progress. It would have been nice to get more help/feedback on MPTs and essays.

I like the materials, exercises, and lectures. I was surprised that they did not have a study plan for second-takers of the federal portion of the BAR. So, I could not follow the schedule provided.

I appreciate that the books have been condensed for 2022/2023 to the important bits rather than the excessive information that was present in the 2021/2022 version. However, as Barbri has not offered in-person sessions since 2020, there really is nothing justifying the high cost compared to its competitors. The competitors have launched packages that provide similar value, programming and information at a fraction of the cost. The online system has gone down for over a day during the peak studying hours during both times I've taken the course, which is extremely stressful given that you rely on the online system to generate what tasks to complete each day. The questions are not updated or shuffled; thus, if you are a retaker you may notice that you remember answers and it is incumbent upon you to supplement your assigned practice questions. The Strategies & Insights Webinars can prove helpful if you are struggling to understand the basics, but it really depends on the instructor and the other attendees. The webinars may end up feeling like a waste of time if the instructor is more focused on reading the powerpoint notes to attendees rather than answering substantive questions, helping form strategies, and addressing areas of concerns. Additionally, if the instructor is not good at managing the time and questions and allows some attendees to monopolize the session, you may again feel like you lost valuable time that could rather be spent studying. Still, the practice exam and detailed breakdown is very helpful and allows students to address areas of weakness so that you can pass.
